Wilbur POV
Quackity sits up on the roof, his winds extending. He seems to wince slightly and the taller male notices.
"Land wrong?" he asks.
"Nah, cramped in midair," Quackity sighs. "My wings got pretty messed up long ago, still haven't got back to their previous state."
"Oh..." Wilbur can't help but admire the beauty of his wings, he wonders what it feels like to touch them.
The shorter assassin shakes it off. "Ok first step is to locate the target, I'll go over there."
"Oh uh," Wilbur starts to say, but he walks to the edge of the roof and just drops off, sliding safely to another location.
"Well ok," the taller male shrugs and climbs down the ladder on the other side, dropping down onto a lower roof the opposite direction Quackity is going in.
He taps his mic once.
"Hello this is agent Wilbur, do you copy?"
Soon Quackity's voice comes back crackling slightly.
"Yes I hear you. Don't say the stupid fancy words."
Wilbur smiles to himself. "See anything?"
"Nope, do you?"
"Nah."
"Then keep looking instead of talking to me, don't you want to impress the commander with this one?" Quackity sighs audibly.
"Uh well yeah, but I'm kinda bored of the whole splitting up thing. We are a duo," Wilbur says.
He scans the streets and sees a person moving through the shadows.
"I got my eye on him," he shrinks back under the cover of the roof and keeps watching.
"Where?"
"Down from the roof we landed on, to the right side. He's walking by a street light now."
"Alright." There's the sound of shifting and Quackity's mic goes silent.
Wilbur keeps quiet and watches the shadowed figure stop by the light. He looks like he's waiting...
Suddenly another person comes out of the shadows, dragging a cart with crates on it.
There's the sound of wings and Quackity lands softly beside him on the roof. He looks over the edge, then flips something in front of his eye.
"Hmm... yep, definitely transferring weapons," he mutters.
He then unhooks his sniper from his back, positioning it on the roof.
"I'll take one out from here, you go down and take out the other, easy kills."
"Ok," Wilbur surveys the other assassin on the roof, finding him as hot as always.
He hooks a claw to the roof, then starts to make his way down the side of the building with the rope attached.
Once on the ground he creeps though the alleys, getting closer to the streetlight but making sure to stay in the dark.
He pulls out his gun, making sure the safety is off.
He can see Quackity slightly from the roof and he waits for the shot.
Quackity POV
He takes a deep breath and focuses on aiming towards one of the guys' heads. The two seem to be talking and one exchanges money with the other.
He takes another deep breath holding his finger lightly on the trigger. He aims right at the man's head and shoots.
The sound is mostly muffled and the bullet strikes true. The man falls to the ground limply. The other guy steps away from the body in shock, he looks around and Quackity immediately ducks under the rooftop again with the sniper.
Wilbur where are you?!
Suddenly there's a gunshot from down below and Quackity peeks up again, seeing the other man falling silently, not even able to scream.
"I got him!" Wilbur exclaims to him through the headpiece.
He taps the mic to reply. "Good shot, I'll meet you down there."
He makes sure to put the safety back on his sniper and hooks it properly, he then unhooks Wilbur's grappling hook from the roof and glides down to the ground as quietly as possible. He rolls the rope up, then continues on his way, almost smacking into Wilbur as he rounds the corner.
"That was easy," Wilbur whispers, taking the rope back from him.
"Not so fast, we have to secure the weapons being transferred too," Quackity tucks his wings back and begins to walk out to the scene.
"Don't leave fingerprints," he warns, "Or footprints."
Wilbur nods and follows him, pulling on his thicker gloves. He slowly pries open the crate.
The two assassins peer inside, seeing bundles of guns and ammo.
"Mmm..." Quackity narrows his eyes disprovingly.
"I'll contact the agency, tell them we got it done," Wilbur walks a little bit away and taps his mic twice. He starts to murmur to the agency.
The shorter male scans the roofs, he could make an escape now; leave Wilbur and find his way back to the old agency and Luzu...
But something is stopping him. Maybe it's logic, he wouldn't get far before the other assassin catches him.
He looks back as the taller male walks back over to the crates.
"They are sending the helicopter, the mission is done," he says.
"But... we can't just leave this mess out here," Quackity tells him.
"The agency will take care of it, we did our part," Wilbur looks so happy that their first official mission together went well.
Quackity debates pulling out his pistol and killing him right then and there. His hand subtly drifts to the pistol holster, but he doesn't do it.
Wilbur then seems to notice and grows a bit wary. He raises his gun again slightly. The shorter male immediately feels guilty and lets his hand fall to his side.
"Alright lets just wait for the helicopter to get here," he murmurs.
Wilbur nods.
The two move away from the scene silently and up to the rooftop again. Soon the helicopter lowers down and the ladder is extended.
Quackity flies back up to the top of the ladder before climbing the rest of the way, worried he could flap wrong and get his wing shredded in the blades of the helicopter.
He and Wilbur sit quietly, not saying anything to each other. Quackity stretches his tired wings out. They have done better today than usual.
He still feels a little bad for thinking about killing Wilbur.
Wilbur POV
He sits there beside Quackity in the helicopter. A strange feeling has filled him; one of disappointment.
He had seen the shorter male's hand drift towards his pistol. It led him to remember that every good thing that has come to him in the last month happened through his impulsive act of kidnapping Quackity.
He is having a good time at the shorter male's expense. He was proud of kidnapping him and getting him as a duo. The only reason he is a true assassin now is because of him training with Quackity.
He slowly puts his head in his hands as guilt overcomes him.
Why couldn't I have just waited to get a normal duo...
