Shivani Pov:
I was reading a story when my phone rang. It was Sharath. I barely managed to ignore the butterflies and concentrate on the story, but he just had to suddenly pop up out of no where.
"Hello," I said.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"Nothing," I replied.
"So, what's the procedure?" he asked.
"For what?" I inquired.
"This is the first time I am in this situation and I don't want to make any mistake. So, what exactly does this 'getting to know each other' phase mean?" he said. I chuckled. He is cute sometimes.
"It means we are getting to know each other and seeing if we have any future together," I explained.
"That's bullshit. We do, but it's okay. You can take your time. When will this phase end and we will get married?" he asked. I rolled my eyes.
"What exactly do you want? To give me time or get married?" I questioned.
"I personally want to get married. So, now it's on you. When can we get married?" he insisted. I just stared at the phone in disbelief.
"Are you there, baby?" he asked.
"Hmm," I responded.
"Okay, so when are we getting married?" he pressed.
"I mean, why are you in such a hurry? Don't you have time until the year-end or something?" I asked.
"This has nothing to do with it. You should know that if it's not you, I am not going to marry anyone ever," he declared.
"Do you think I will believe that? You literally asked me to pretend to be your fake fiancé," I pointed out.
"First of all, you are not a fake fiancé. You should have known that by now. And secondly, I don't need to get married to get the company," he explained.
"Did you lie to me?" I questioned.
"No, baby. It's true. But I found the loophole way before and was about to act on it. But then you came, everything changed, and you know what happened later," he explained.
"Yeah, then you saw and took the right opportunity at the resort," I sarcastically said.
"One should know how to take an opportunity, baby," he said. I rolled my eyes.
"Stop calling me baby," I demanded.
"No, I'm used to it," he replied.
"From how many days have you been calling me baby to get used to it, mister?" I questioned.
"To you, it's less, but in my mind, from the start. I'm just showing you," he said. Shit!
"Hello?" I said.
"Are you there?" he asked.
"Good night," I said, and cut the call. I placed my hand on my heart. It's beating very hard. Shivani, you need to control yourself. Guys are just in the talking stage. That's when a message pops up, and your guess is right, it's Sharath.
"You are cute when you are shy 😉. Good night. Dream about me, baby,💕" he texted. And that's how he took my sleep away. Wonderful.
Next morning:
I calmed my heart and managed to get some sleep and trust me, I didn't wake up in a second when he appeared in the dream. I got ready and went down and saw Sharath was waiting for me in the car. I controlled my smile and walked towards him, and when he saw me, he came out and opened the car door for me. I just gave him a small smile. After that, all the way to the office, we talked about random stuff.
When we reached the office and prepared his coffee and, with schedule, reached his office. I knocked, "Come in," he said, and when he saw me, he said, You don't need to knock, Shivani; you can just come in from now on." I nodded my head. "Here is the coffee and schedule," I said, and I told him his schedule, and after that, he handed me the documents.
Usually, I hand him the documents, but today it's different. When I looked at the document, it was my job contract, and guess what? There is no expiration date, and the salary is the same. I raised my eyebrows at me."What is this?" "Contract." "Oh, really, I thought it was a cooking recipe; tell me why there is no expiry date, and what does that mean I am getting the same amount of salary?" He just shrugged his shoulders.
"Sharath, the contract needs to have an expiry date, and I get an extra salary because I was temporary; you were in need. I will make a new contract." "No need, I want you permanently, and yeah, my money is our money; it doesn't matter how you get it." I just glared at him. "Okay, okay, we can discuss salary, but the "5-5 years contract is okay." "No," "no," "10 last, and I will bring the contract." Idiot, I thought left to do my work.
