Chapter Eight It's Time!

Reader's POV

Mikasa is her last month and going smoothly, Eren has really stepped up and been there for her, he stopped going to his late bike rides with the boys. He has really proven himself.

Mikasa and Eren were on the couch watching a movie together when there was a knock at the door. Eren got up and answered it. It was the boys.

"Hey Eren, you want to come riding with us tonight?" Connie asked

"Sorry guys I can't, I have to be with Mikasa in case the baby comes early!" He replied

The boys exchanged glances, a mix of surprise and admiration.

"Wow, man, you really are stepping up," Armin said, grinning. "I didn't think you'd actually pass up a ride."

Eren smiled, glancing back at Mikasa, who was watching with a proud expression. "I want to be there for her. It's important."

"Yeah, I get it," Jean said, nodding. "But we'll miss you out there!"

"I'll catch the next ride for sure," Eren promised. "Just focus on having fun without me tonight."

As the boys chatted a bit more, Mikasa leaned against Eren, feeling grateful for his support. She could see how much he cared, and it made her heart swell.

"Have fun, guys," Mikasa called out, her voice warm. "Just make sure to stay in one piece!"

"Always!" Connie replied with a laugh before they headed off.

Once the door was closed, Eren turned to Mikasa, a teasing grin on his face. "Now that they're gone, how about we get back to our movie? Or maybe something else?"

Mikasa raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk forming. "Oh, really? What did you have in mind?"

Eren chuckled, leaning closer. "I think we can figure something out."

Time skip

13th of March.

It was around lunch time when Eren came home from his last shift, Mikasa was just relaxing.

"Hey babe!" Eren greeted her with a kiss.

"Hey, how was your day?" She asked as he looked at her with a smile.

"Great Levi said that I don't have to come in anymore until after the baby is born!" He replied.

Mikasa's eyes widened in surprise, a mix of joy and relief washing over her. "Really? That's amazing! You'll be here with me?"

"Yep!" Eren said, his smile growing wider. "Levi thinks it's best for me to be around in case anything happens. Plus, I can help you out more."

"That's perfect," Mikasa said, feeling a wave of gratitude. "You're going to be such a great support."

Eren sat down next to her, placing a hand on her belly. "I just want to be there for you and our little one. We've been waiting for this moment for so long."

Mikasa nodded, a warm feeling spreading in her chest. "I'm so glad you're home. I've been feeling a bit anxious today."

"Want to talk about it?" Eren asked gently.

"Maybe later," she replied, leaning into him. "For now, I just want to enjoy the moment with you."

Eren wrapped his arms around her, content to be by her side as they settled in for a cozy afternoon together.
