Reader's POV
Four years later.
Mikasa and Eren were at Armin and Annie's house with Mika playing with the two boys.
"Eren, if you keep scowling like that your face will get stuck that way" Mikasa said
"Shut up," he growled, "Do you just sit there and let our daughter be pushed around like that?" Eren yelled as Mikasa rolled her eyes
"It's fine you're just overreacting again." Mikasa replied as Eren turned his head away from his wife and looked on in anger at the children playing across the living room. Armin had invited him, Mikasa, and Their now four year old Mika for dinner and his two sons had been excited to play with their little friend.
The problem was their idea of playing with Mika involved pulling at her pigtails, pushing her around, and telling her she had to stay home because she was a girl. Eren scowled deeper, clenching his fists at the sight.
"Mikasa, they're being so unfair!" he exclaimed, his voice rising despite his efforts to keep it down.
"It's just kids being kids, Eren," she said, trying to soothe him. "They're not trying to be mean. Just watch how she handles it."
Eren reluctantly turned back to the scene. Mika was standing her ground, her little hands on her hips, looking up at the boys with determination. "I can play, too!" she declared, her voice steady despite the teasing.
The older boy laughed, "But girls can't be pirates!"
Mika's expression shifted, a mix of defiance and hurt flashing across her face. "I can be a pirate if I want! And I'll be the best one!"
Eren felt a surge of pride, but it was quickly overshadowed by the urge to step in. Just as he was about to move, Mikasa reached out and squeezed his arm, silently urging him to hold back.
"See?" she whispered. "She's got this."
Mika took a deep breath, her resolve strengthening. "You know what? I'll prove it! Let's go find treasure!"
The boys exchanged glances, momentarily stunned. Eren's heart raced as he watched her rally their attention.
"Yeah, let's go!" one of the boys finally agreed, and they quickly got caught up in her enthusiasm.
Mikasa smiled softly at Eren. "She's learning how to stand up for herself. Just like you taught her."
Eren let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding, feeling the tension start to fade. "I just want to make sure she knows she's strong enough to fight back if she needs to."
"She knows, Eren. And she'll continue to grow into that strength with your support," Mikasa reassured him.
Eren scowled at the sight of the boy's pushing her around and was about to yell out to Mika and tell her to push them back when Mikasa pinched his bicep.
"Ow that fucking hurt, mikasa!" Eren
"The stop glaring at the six-year-old boy." She replied
"Then tell her six year old brats to leave Mika alone" He said
"I already told you she's fine Eren" Mikasa sighed,"Back when I was seven and lived with my mum and dad there were these older boys who used to pick on me too," Mikasa said
"So what?" You Just ignore them?" Eren asked as Mikasa looked away,"Well no... One day I snapped, kicked them all and pushed them into a stream..." Mikasa replied as Eren he didn't know that feel proud or horrified
