Chapter Seventeen It's Too Soon!

Reader's POV

Two Months later.

Mikasa is now 3 months along and going steady. Eren has noticed that she is still traumatized from the miscarriage. She walks slowly down the stairs, always watching her step. She's very careful with her surroundings and takes everything very slow.

Eren observed Mikasa with a mix of concern and admiration as she navigated the stairs carefully, her hand resting lightly on the railing. He could see the determination in her eyes, but he also recognized the caution that had replaced her usual confidence.

"Mikasa," he called softly, stepping closer to her as she reached the bottom step. "You're doing great, but remember, it's okay to take your time."

She smiled at him, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. "I know. I just... I can't help but feel a little anxious."

Eren nodded, understanding the lingering fear that shadowed her every move. "We're in this together, remember? I'll always be here to help you, no matter what."

Mikasa leaned into him for a moment, finding comfort in his presence. "I know. I just wish I could shake this feeling off."

"It's completely normal to feel this way," Eren reassured her. "You've been through so much. Just take it one day at a time, and don't hesitate to lean on me."

"Thanks, Eren," she said, her voice softening. "I really appreciate you being so understanding."

"Always," he replied, giving her a reassuring smile. "How about we take it easy today? We can get cozy and watch some movies with Mika."

"Sounds perfect," Mikasa said, finally allowing herself to relax a little. Together, they made their way into the living room, where the warm light and comfortable atmosphere awaited them. As they settled in, Eren wrapped an arm around Mikasa, knowing that each day they faced together was a step toward healing.

A few days later.

Eren took Mika to school and came back to get Mikasa up before he went to work. As she was getting ready he realized that she looked off.

"Mikasa, are you okay?" He asked as he put on his tie.

"Yeah I'm fine!" She said

"You know I can tell when you're lying to me!" He said

"Do you really have to go to work today?" She asked as he approach her

"Yeah leave, I want me in for a little bit but I'll be back after lunch! Why do you ask?" He replied

"It's just today...." She replied

"Huh, what are you going on about?" He asked

"Today is the same day that I...."

"You fell and had the miscarriage? Is that it?" He asked as tears rolled down her face.

"Yeah... Just I don't want to be alone!" She said as he hugged her

"Mikasa, honey you will be fine!" He said

"Eren what if..."

"No what if's! Okay! You will be fine and I'll be back after lunch." He said

"Eren..." she said as he shushed her

"If you need me you can always call me!" He replied

Mikasa leaned into Eren's embrace, feeling the warmth and safety that came from being held by him. The weight of the memories pressed heavily on her heart, but she was grateful for his support.
