Chapter Fifteen Life Can Be Challenging!

Reader's POV
Mikasa was released from the hospital after a week of treatment. Mika was excited about having her mother back as she didn't like the way her dad did her hair. Eren dropped Mika to school and then went to pick up Mikasa.
Mikasa was waiting at the front when Eren pulled up.
"Hey babe you got everything?" He asked as he got out to help her.
"Yeah!" She replied
"That's good! Are you ready to get home?" He asked
"Yes! I'm sick of being in the hospital bed!" She replied as Eren chuckled packing the car.
"Hey you get to be in your own bed again!" He said
"Finally! Is Mika at school?" She replied
"Yeah why?" He asked
"Oh well I never got to ask how her first day of school went last week!"
She replied
Eren smiled as he closed the trunk, glancing at Mikasa. "I'm sure she'll be excited to tell you all about it. She was a bit nervous at first, but I think she made some friends."
Mikasa's eyes brightened. "I can't wait to hear all the details! Did she meet anyone special?"
"Just a couple of nice kids from her class. Nothing too serious yet," Eren replied, settling into the driver's seat. "But I think she's enjoying it."
As they drove, Mikasa looked out the window, feeling the rush of freedom wash over her. "I missed so much while I was in there," she said, her voice tinged with a mix of excitement and sadness. "I just want to be part of their lives again."
Eren reached over and squeezed her hand. "You're back now, and that's what matters. We'll catch up on everything together."
Mikasa smiled, grateful for his support. "Thanks, Eren. I really appreciate it."
Once they arrived home, Mikasa rushed to her room, eager to settle back into her familiar space. She unpacked her things, neatly organizing her books and personal items. The sunlight streaming through the window made everything feel warm and inviting.
Eren leaned against the doorway, watching her with a smile. "You look happy," he said.
"I am," Mikasa replied, turning to face him. "And I just can't wait to see Mika when she gets home."
"Let's make it special for her," Eren suggested. "Maybe we can bake something together?"
Mikasa nodded enthusiastically. "That sounds perfect! She'll love that!"
The two of them spent the rest of the afternoon preparing for Mika's return, excited to create new memories together as a family.
Mikasa and Eren bake some cookies after unpacking Mikasa bags. Levi dropped by to see how Mikasa was.
Mikasa sat down with Levi for some afternoon tea while Eren was cleaning up the kitchen.
"So Levi, what did you want to talk about?" Mikasa asked
"Well first of all how are you?" He asked
"I'm doing better!" She replied
"That's great! So I want to offer something to you!" He said
"What is it?" She asked as Eren walked upstairs
"I can get Eren some leave with pay for a little bit if you need him to be here helping you out!" He replied
