The next couple of hours consisted of a neverending stream of information.
Beat up as he was Jisung could barely follow along.
"The Strays is a secret organization not recognized by the government." Chan explained:
"We take care of people with special powers and train them to use those powers for good"Jisung nodded, lightheaded.
Just a few days prior he thought this sort of things only belonged in comics and movies.
Minho walked in silence with them as Chan showed Jisung around the premises.
His presence both soothed and worried Jisung.
Expecially because he seemed angry for whatever reason.
After the garden, the training rooms, the dining room and the hall, finally they reached what looked like a residence.
"This is where you'll sleep." Chan stated, opening a door.
The room was spacious and well illuminated by the same huge windows that seemed to be a staple of The Mansion. There were two beds, next to eachother and one of the two seemed to have been used recently. A phone charged on the bedside table.
"So I have a roomate?"
If he had to choose Jisung would've probably gone with Felix. He seemed very friendly.
"You'll have to stay with Minho at all times." Chan interrupted his thoughts:
"So obviously you'll also share a room.""Oh."
Jisung tried meeting his roomate's eyes but the other's staid glued to the floor, his frown deepening.
"Is that why he's upset?"
Acid stirred in his stomach.
"How did I manage to make him hate me so much already...?"
"Jisung, listen. Your power is as much of a mistery to us as it is to you. You don't seem to know how to control it and that's bad, seen the amount of damage it can cause."
Jisung bit the inside of his cheek to keep his mind blank.
"That's why I'm assigning you to Minho for your training. He's the strongest of our warriors and has more experience than anyone here."
Minho's mouth seemed to quirk upwards for a second at that.
"But most importantly, his power Nullify can neutralize yours fast and without accidents. You understand why we have to do this, right?"
Jisung nodded.
He didn't want to be dangerous.
He didn't want to hurt anyone anymore. And if that meant he had to let Minho hold his hand for a month straight, he'd do it no questions asked.
Chan smiled softly and ruffled his hair:
"Good."After the mess that had been the previous day, this small gesture of affection felt like heaven. Jisung almost teared up.
"I'll let you two get settled. Besides. I think Seungmin just came back."
Having said that, Chan walked away, leaving Jisung and Minho alone.
Silence expanded between them.
"Awkward..."
Jisung's anxiety instantly fired up, causing his breath to get troubled and his hands to start fidgeting.
Minho detatched from the wall.
"The bed next to the window is yours. We'll go buy whatever else you need this afternoon. I'll wait here." he said harshly, then closed the door.
Jisung sighed, now alone in their room.
He sat down on his new bed. It was soft and the sheets smelled so clean... a nap sounded like a great plan right then.
"But that would mean having Minho watch over me for hours... I can't do that to him..."
As he looked out the window to the cloudless skies, he mourned his old life for the last time.
He wouldn't hear his mother's voice anymore.
Wouldn't cook for his father, wouldn't go to school, wouldn't have anything normal anymore. But this was the price he had to pay for what he had done.
"Mum, I promise I'll learn to control this power I have. That way I won't scare anyone like I scared you."
A few moments later he opened the door back up.
"God, you're slow" groaned Minho:
"Come on, it's lunch time already"Jisung watched as Minho walked away without waiting for him.
"This is going to be a long process..."
