Hyunjin played nervously with his cross necklace, the warmth of the cafè's heating system burning his skin all over.

"Behave while I order" Felix had said and Hyunjin had listened.

His instinct told him he was safe.
His brain screamed at him that he wasn't.

Agreeing to meet the light user when the sun hit this part of town better?
Just how dense was he??

He shifted uncomfortably and breathed.

He however had to admit that after living on the streets for months, the cuscions and warmth and tasty smells of the cafè felt like heaven.

"There" Felix said and placed what seemed a full brunch in front of him.

Hyunjin's mouth watered.

"But-" he tried.

The other smiled kindly from behind his own cup of coffee:
"Just eat, will you?"

Hyunjin didn't let him repeat that twice.

That was probably the best food he had ever had. Like ever ever.

"Jee" Felix laughed:
"It's like you've survived on scraps this whole time... Slow down!"

Hyunjin lowered his fork slowly.
For the first time in months he felt shame at how he had been living.

Because yes, he had survived on scraps this whole time.

"Don't tell me...?"

Hyunjin glared at him.
Felix looked horrified.

He took his hand and Hyunjin winced at the contact with the other's boiling hot hands.

"You have to let me bring you to The Mansion" he said.

Hyunjin scoffed.

"No, listen to me. You can't keep living like this! At The Mansion you'd get a room, a bed, decent food..."

"Felix I tried to kill all of you! It's not that simple!" Hyunjin exclaimed instead, interrupting him.

Felix grimaced.

"Why did you?" he asked.

Hyunjin sighed. His eyes got watery.

"I thought- I thought I was doing right by someone. I thought I was follwing my faith. Now I don't know anymore..."

"Mhh" Felix hummed, as if he had already known.

Hyunjin looked at him and wondered how things could be different for them.
Then he stopped.

"Makes sense" Felix was saying:
"All power holders have regrets. We make mistakes constantly because noone taught us how to be ourselves without hurting others..."

Flashes of his siblings' faces appeared in Hyunjin's mind.

"...take Jisung for example"

"The weapon."

"How can you call a monster like that by name?" he asked harshly:

"He hurt you."

Felix's stare got stern:

"He's my best friend. Besides, he can't control his power, it's not his fault. He isn't a monster... he's a tragedy. Can you imagine what it's like to lose control of your body? Your thoughts? Be forced to do things you'd never ever do?"

Hyunjin's heart hurt.
He hadn't thought about it that way.

"I do understand... I've felt that way before..."

Niki's dark eyes.
Yeji's frozen smile.
The cold.

The Angel.

Hyunjin trembled like a leaf.

What was that Angel then?
Was it even an Angel???
Had he been...

tricked?

"I need to think" he said and stood up.

"Wait!" Felix called after him:

"I don't even know your name..."

"It's Hyunjin."

As soon as the cafè's door jingled closed behind him he broke down.
