The glimmer reflected on metal.

Piercing pain.

Those faces...filled with hatred.

And then nothing but bliss...

"Is he ok...?" someone asked, voice muffled and far.

"He should be... I mean, my power has never failed me. I don't see why it should fail me now"

Slowly, Jisung slipped away from the world of dreams and nightmares. His lids opened and he instantly had to close them again because of the immense light.

"Oh! He's awake!" a cheerful voice exclaimed.

Jisung blinked and finally could see where he was.

The place looked like an infirmary.
There were lines of white hospital beds, all illuminated by the natural light coming from pairs of giant windows. Outside, Jisung saw a garden.

"Welcome to The Mansion!" someone said.

Finally, Jisung put a face to that weirdly deep excited voice. It belonged to a freckly, dyed blond man.

Next to him stood the most muscular man Jisung had ever seen, an expression of severity and dark hair made him look completely opposite of the other.

"Uhm, hi" Jisung said shyly.

"I'm Felix!" the first one answered:
"And this is Changbin. He cured you, you know?"

Right there, Jisung realized that the deep knife wound in his left arm didn't hurt anymore. He rushed to check and...

it was gone.

"Pretty cool, right?" the muscular man said proudly:
"It's my power"

Jisung's eyes widened in surprise:
"So you too...?"

The two people in front of him nodded knowingly.

Warmth flooded Jisung's insides.

"I'm not alone..."

Then suddenly memories of the previous day painfully rushed in.

"That guy!" he said:
"Minho! Is he ok??"

Felix scoffed:
"Of course he's ok. It's Minho."

Jisung wondered what he meant by that.

"He's talking to the boss right now in case you're wondering" Changbin added.

"The boss...?"

Felix sighed:
"I'm guessing Minho didn't explain shit to you. Typical."

But Jisung's confusion didn't even have the time to fester because a third person rushed into the infirmary.

"Chan wants Jisung up in his office. If he can walk, that is"

This one was smaller and wore a pair of big glasses. He looked cute.

"Thanks, Jeongin" Changbin stated:
"Do you think you can do it?"

Jisung slowly got up.

His legs were slightly wobbly but stable overall.

He nodded.

"Good. It's on the second floor, elevator on the right."

Jisung walked past Jeongin, enduring his curious stare.

As he turned right he heared one last message from Felix:

"Good luck!"

Heart drumming in his chest, Jisung panicked during the entire elevator ride.

"This feels like being sent to the principal's office but a thousand times worse"

Who was this Chan? What was this place?

Jisung craved his mother's pancakes. He craved a bath.

He wanted to see that Minho again. Make sure he was ok with his own two eyes.

And as soon as he entered the room he thought he was supposed to be in his wish was granted.

Minho was sitting comfortably on a chair in front of a dark wooden table, looking more than fine.

Jisung let out a shakey breath and met his cold eyes.

He looked displeased.

On the other side of the table sat another man, clearly older than the both of them.

Jisung sat next to Minho.

"Han Jisung." the man stated, his voice monotone:

"Have you recovered well?"

"Yeah, I'm ok" Jisung answered, surprised by the concern.

"Good. I feel the need to let you know that we have dispatched one of our warriors to clean up yesterday's mess. That your family will receive proper burials. That you won't be pursued by the police. That me, Minho and everyone in this mansion are truly sorry for your loss."

Jisung swallowed saliva. He didn't want to think of any of that.

"Th- thanks." he mumbled, trying to keep the memories off his mind.

Chan nodded:
"We won't ask questions you don't feel like answering either.

Now. Shall we begin?"
