The room you and Chisaki entered was cold and sterile, lit by harsh fluorescent lights that cast stark shadows on the concrete floor. The walls were a dull gray, the texture rough and uninviting. Metal tables and medical equipment lined one side, while the opposite wall had various monitors and instruments, their purposes unclear but undeniably ominous. The air felt thick with a chemical scent, sharp and medicinal, like a place where things went wrong.
You stumbled in, heart racing with every fearful step. Your eyes darted around the room, taking in the cold, clinical environment. There was something eerily familiar about the space, but you couldn't place it. The familiarity only added to the growing unease that made your stomach churn. A sudden, sharp pain shot through your head, making you freeze in place. Your hands flew up to your temples, fingers digging into your scalp as you tried to calm the throbbing ache. The room began to blur, the lights too bright, the air too thick.
But Chisaki didn't care. He stepped forward, his expression as cold and detached as ever. Without a word, he grabbed the back of your shirt and yanked you forward with little effort. You fell hard onto the cold floor, your palms scraping against the rough concrete as your body hit the ground. The shock made your breath hitch, and you could feel the sting of tears welling up in your eyes. Your body trembled, both from the pain and the overwhelming fear flooding your senses.
"W-why are you doing this to me?" you asked, your voice shaking. You didn't know what else to say, your mind a whirl of confusion, pain, and desperation. All you could do was look up at Chisaki, hoping for some kind of answer, some kind of explanation that would make sense of the terror you felt deep inside.
But Chisaki's expression remained unreadable, his cold eyes locking onto yours without an ounce of empathy.
He spoke up, his gaze cold and devoid of any emotion. "Don't flatter yourself. I've had several subjects before you—you're not special." His words cut deep, and you could feel the weight of his indifference pressing down on you. "However, all my other subjects knew how to shut up and follow orders, which is a skill you seem to have forgotten."
Before you could react, Chisaki's hand shot forward, his nails digging into your cheeks with cruel precision. A sharp pain shot through your face as his fingers tightened, the pressure unbearable. His nails left angry red marks on your skin as tears welled up in your eyes, the sting of his grip making it impossible to hold back your sobs.
"You will be quiet," he hissed, his voice low and venomous, "and you will be complacent." His grip on your face loosened just slightly, but the intensity of his words still weighed heavily on you. "This experimentation is for the betterment of society, so you should feel honored, if anything, to be playing a leading role in removing the disgusting, filthy mutations we know as quirks and restoring humanity to its original, natural, pure form."
His words echoed in your mind, the cruelty behind them sending a shiver down your spine. You felt your heart race, fear and despair crashing over you like waves. The tears in your eyes blurred your vision as you held your breath, helpless and terrified, unsure of what would happen next.
