Jungkook paced in his room, his heart racing with excitement he could barely contain.

It felt surreal—he and Taehyung were boyfriends.

Boyfriends.

Just saying the word in his head made him giddy, a boyish grin spreading across his face as he replayed everything that had happened.

Every glance, every touch, every whispered confession—it was all so fresh, so new.

He ran his fingers through his hair, letting out a soft laugh as he thought about how long he had waited for this, how much he had dreamed of this moment.

But now, all he could think about was Taehyung.

The way his lips curved when he smiled, the sound of his laugh, the softness of his voice.

The feeling of missing him was so powerful, so overwhelming, that Jungkook stopped pacing and stared at the door to his room.

Taehyung was just a few steps away in his own room, and yet, Jungkook felt like he needed to see him, to be with him, right now.

Before he could stop himself, he was out the door, heading down the hall.

His heartbeat quickened as he reached Taehyung’s door. He raised his hand and knocked softly.

When there was no answer, he smiled, assuming Taehyung had fallen asleep. The thought of sneaking in just to kiss him goodnight brought a warmth to his chest.

Jungkook carefully opened the door, the hinges creaking quietly.

But as he peeked inside, expecting to see Taehyung bundled up in his blankets, he found the bed empty.

The soft sound of water running from the bathroom made him pause. He’s showering, Jungkook thought, and his heart calmed a little.

Without a second thought, Jungkook walked into the room and sat on the edge of Taehyung’s bed. he'll wait for him.

He fished his phone out of his pocket and smiled. His fingers moved almost automatically as he went to Taehyung’s contact, his smile widening as he changed the name to My Love with a red heart emoji next to it.

The realization hit him all over again—he could do this now.

He could send Taehyung good morning texts, call him whenever he missed him, take selfies together. He could take him out on dates, hold his hand in public, kiss him under the stars.

Back in ancient Egypt, he and Tyung couldn’t have any of that.

Their love had been hidden, a whispered secret between the two of them.

But now…now it was different.

Now, they could be open, be proud of their love. Jungkook’s heart swelled with joy at the thought, his face lighting up like a kid who had just gotten his first crush to notice him.

As he scrolled through his phone, already planning a series of texts to send Taehyung just to make him smile, the sound of the shower shutting off made him pause.

He looked up, anticipation building in his chest.

The door opened, and out walked Taehyung, his skin fresh and glowing, his hair damp and curling at the edges.

He was clad in a white silky pajama set, the fabric dotted with tiny yellow ducks.

Jungkook’s heart skipped a beat, and he couldn’t hold back the soft chuckle that escaped him.
