Jungkook's hand was warm and steady as he helped Taehyung onto the small boat, a playful grin tugging at the corners of his lips.
The night air was crisp but not too cold, the gentle breeze carrying with it the soft scent of the sea.
Taehyung looked around in awe as the boat glided away from the shore, his eyes widening in surprise when he noticed the setup under the stars.
In the center of the boat was an elegantly laid table—candles flickered in the light breeze, casting a warm glow over the white tablecloth.
The silverware gleamed in the moonlight, and an array of flowers was arranged in the middle, their petals delicate and colorful. and they were all Taehyung’s favorites.
dragon flowers. he clearly remembers Jungkook giving them to him back in ancient Egypt, saying they reminded him of the Pharaoh, symbolizing strengh and grace. and they were his favorite since then.
Above them, the night sky stretched out in all its vastness, the stars shimmering like diamonds.
"Jungkook… you're impossible!" Taehyung asked, his voice filled with wonder, emotional.
Jungkook simply smiled, pulling out a chair for him.
"A special night for a special person," he said smoothly, watching as Taehyung’s cheeks flushed a soft pink.
As they settled in, waiters emerged from the cabin, bringing out plates of food that were equally as breathtaking as the view around them.
They started with a light salad—baby greens with candied walnuts, goat cheese, and a drizzle of balsamic reduction. Taehyung hummed in approval, savoring the taste.
Between bites, Jungkook's curiosity got the better of him.
"tell me more about your life now," he said, leaning forward slightly, his dark eyes shining with interest. "What’s your family like? What was it like growing up?"
Taehyung took a sip of his wine, setting the glass down with a soft clink.
"Well," he began, "I’m an only child. My mom passed away a long time ago, and my dad... well, he's always away doing business. He’s hardly around, so I was a bit of a spoiled brat growing up." He smirked playfully, eyes flicking to Jungkook, who chuckled in response.
"I can totally see that," Jungkook teased, leaning back in his chair, his arms crossed over his chest. "You do give off that vibe, like you were used to getting whatever you wanted."
Taehyung laughed, rolling his eyes. "I wasn’t that bad," he protested, though his grin betrayed him. "Okay, maybe a little."
Jungkook shook his head, still smiling.
"You've changed a lot since i first met you, since i first let that blueball." he noted, his voice softening. There was something warm in his gaze, something appreciative. "You’re different now—calmer, more grounded."
Taehyung nodded in agreement, his expression thoughtful.
"I think so too. meeting you, and then everything else… it forced me to grow up pretty fast, get to know myself on a pretty new light. in a weird way, it made me stronger." He glanced up at Jungkook, his eyes searching his face. "What about you? Tell me more about you."
Jungkook started talking about his upbringing—about his close-knit family, his childhood memories, and the challenges he faced growing up as the youngest in the family.
They laughed about his no teeth era, his love for sports, and his tendency to get into troubles.
As he spoke, Taehyung listened intently, soaking in every detail, eager to know everything about him.
