The next morning, the aroma of freshly cooked food wafted through the house, pulling everyone toward the breakfast table.
Jungkook sat down, his eyes scanning the spread of dishes, but something was missing.
Just as he was about to stand up to get a cup of coffee, a steaming mug was placed before him.
He glanced up to see Taehyung holding his own cup, taking a small sip as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Jungkook’s heart fluttered at the simple yet thoughtful gesture. It was a small act, but it meant more to him than words could say. "Thanks," he said softly, his voice filled with warmth.
Taehyung offered a small smile, their eyes meeting briefly before they both turned their attention to the table.
They sat across from each other, occasionally stealing glances—glances that didn’t go unnoticed by Jin, who raised an eyebrow in suspicion but said nothing.
Conversation flowed naturally as everyone discussed their plans for the day.
Jin mentioned he had errands to run, while Yoongi muttered something about staying in to work on a project.
Jungkook fished out his phone under the table, typing quickly with a sly smile. Within seconds, Taehyung’s phone dinged with a message notification.
Taehyung checked his phone discreetly, but as soon as he read the text, a grin spread across his face. It was a message from Jungkook.
Hey, handsome. Wanna go on a totally casual, definitely-not-suspicious date later? promise, I’ll be on my best behavior. 😇
Taehyung giggled unconsciously, his hand coming up to cover his mouth, but it was too late. Everyone looked at him, curiosity piqued.
“What’s so funny?” Jin asked, leaning in slightly with a teasing smirk.
Taehyung’s eyes widened, and he fumbled for a quick excuse.
“Oh, uh, nothing… Just a meme,” he lied, but the redness creeping up his cheeks betrayed him.
The excuse wasn’t convincing, and Jungkook couldn’t help but laugh softly at Taehyung’s adorable attempt to cover up.
“Right, a meme,” Jungkook teased, shaking his head with amusement as he sipped his coffee. He exchanged a knowing glance with Taehyung, the unspoken message clear between them.
“I’ll be out for most of the day,” Jungkook said, breaking the silence and directing his words toward Taehyung, though his gaze lingered on Yoongi. “I’ll be back by four after I finish sightseeing.”
Taehyung caught the meaning instantly. “Same,” he responded casually, as if they hadn’t just made plans for their secret date.
Jin, however, wasn’t fooled.
He had been observing them closely, his eyes narrowing with suspicion as he chewed his food. “Uh-huh,” he muttered under his breath but decided to let it slide, for now.
As they finished breakfast and started to gather their things to head out, Yoongi, who had been quietly sipping his coffee, stayed behind.
A small, knowing smile tugged at his lips as he watched Jungkook and Taehyung exchange glances, their connection obvious to anyone who paid attention.
It was subtle, but it was there—the way they moved in sync, the way their eyes lingered on each other just a bit too long.
Yoongi chuckled to himself, shaking his head as the two of them left the room, already lost in their own little world.
