The café was dimly lit, the soft hum of conversations blending with the quiet jazz playing from overhead speakers.
Jungkook, Taehyung, Hoseok, and Namjoon sat at a corner booth, their drinks in front of them, Jungkook’s black coffee, Taehyung’s chamomile tea, Hoseok’s caramel latte, and Namjoon’s iced americano.
Jungkook leaned forward, his fingers drumming against the table. “Alright. Let’s go over what we know.”
Namjoon nodded. “Felix’s identity is fake. My hacker friend confirmed it—there’s no legitimate record of him before five years ago. No birth certificate, no real social security number, no traceable family. It’s like he just appeared.”
Taehyung's brows furrowed at this, body tensing.
Hoseok sipped his latte. “Which aligns with what I found."
Jungkook exhaled sharply.
“And then there’s his behavior. No social media, no close friends, that unnatural cold stare.” His voice dropped. “picture's too obvious now.”
The table fell silent.
Taehyung traced the rim of his teacup with a finger, lost in thought. “If he’s truly the Warden, that means he’s playing a long game. He’s waiting for something.” His voice was quiet but firm.
Hoseok frowned. “What do you mean?”
Taehyung’s gaze flickered up, something unreadable in his eyes. “I mean… we need to figure out what that ‘something’ is before he makes his move.”
Namjoon stretched his arms. “Then we dig deeper. Find out who helped him fabricate his past.”
Jungkook agreed. “I’ll see if anyone else noticed anything strange about him.”
Hoseok smirked. “And I’ll bribe Bella with more coffee, she owes me now.”
They finalized their plan, but as the conversation died down, Taehyung remained distant. His fingers twitched slightly against his cup, his expression unreadable.
Jungkook nudged his knee under the table. “You okay?”
Taehyung blinked, offering a small smile. “Yeah. Just thinking.”
Jungkook didn’t push, but something about Taehyung’s gaze unsettled him.
That night, they arrived home in silence.
Taehyung had been quiet ever since the café, lost in his thoughts, while Jungkook had been on edge, his mind tangled with everything they’d learned.
Jungkook ran a hand through his hair. “I’ll go take a quick shower—”
“No need.”
Jungkook turned.
Taehyung stood near the bedroom window, bathed in the glow of the moon.
His golden skin looked soft under the silver light, his expression unreadable yet magnetic. He slowly unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt, revealing the smooth expanse of his collarbones.
Jungkook swallowed hard. “Taehyung..”
Taehyung tilted his head, a knowing smile ghosting his lips.
He stepped forward, slowly, deliberately, until he was in front of Jungkook.
With feather-light fingers, he trailed down the buttons of Jungkook’s shirt but didn’t undo them. His eyes were dark, heavy with something unreadable.
