We walked through the paddock ignoring all of the people calling out to us. It felt good to just have my sunglasses on, head up, walking through with Alex right next to me. It gave me some of my confidence back.

I was grateful for her and there would never be enough words to express it. She had instantly taken me in and we became friends like it was the most natural thing in the world. And I knew it was real friendship because she was there for me when that call came in. She had dropped everything to come make sure I was back to feeling myself and acting like me. It was like a relief. To know I could rely on someone like that.

We got to the McLaren garage and she turned us, taking both my hands in hers. "Go completely rule your kingdom."

I snorted and hugged her before she walked toward the Ferrari garage. She said if I needed anything just to send a quick text and she would speed walk her way over here because she couldn't run in heels. It made me laugh during the drive but it was also another comfort that made me standing here feel less scary.

"Riles!"

Lando waved at me from inside the garage and I took off my sunglasses, switching back to my actual glasses as I stepped into the darkness of the garage.

"Glasses?"

"Slept in my contacts, I kinda have to wear them."

"I think you look great," He said, stealing Izzy's seat.

She had left a bit before me and Alex did after I explained the situation to her. Izzy knew and told me that she would find me once I got here to take some of the workload away from her. I was grateful for the work, it kept my mind busy but was I took my seat, I looked up at Lando who was already on his race suit.

"How are you feeling?"

"Lucky. I've got my good luck charm." He winked at me while flashing the ring I gave him.

It made me laugh when I realized that Izzy was right about him not taking it off. He had been wearing it non-stop since that first day.

"Pole?"

"Most definitely."

"I might steal it, don't get too cocky."
