I got down to the lobby to see Lando waiting for me, leaning in the chair like he had nothing better to do. And he looked so good doing it. I shouldn't have found the simple pair of jeans and McLaren hoodie attractive but there he was. Curls perfect and his hat laying across his lap.

"Lan."

He looked up and that signature smile spread across his face as he stood. He held out a pair of keys. "Wanna drive?"

Lando laughed as he looked down at my story. "Seriously?"

"It's true!"

He rolled his eyes at me. I only smiled as I parked, letting him grab all his things before we got out. He made sure to stay by my side as we walked through the paddock. I knew photos were being taken of us and there was going to be some kind of blow up because of it but I didn't mind. It was Lando and I. Nothing more than friends.

"Are you going to say hi to the other girls?"

"Are they here?"

"Well, duh. If they were at dinner, they'll be here."

I smiled as I set all my stuff down in the seat Zak told me was mine the day before. Lando hovered around as he watched me set all everything up. I tried not to watch him watching me but I would steal a glance every once in a while.

"I promise I'll be back before the race starts."

He nodded, taking his cap and putting it on my head. I raised an eyebrow but all I got was a playful shrug as he walked to his drivers room. I rolled my eyes as I adjusted it, walking towards where I thought I would find the girls.

"So you and Lando?"

I rolled my eyes as Lily linked her arm with mine. She had walked up to me with the largest grin and so I assumed she had seen my stories. We were walking toward the hospitality tent, going to find the other girls who I'm sure would say the same thing.

"It's nothing."

"You're wearing his hat."

"He gave it to me." I shrugged.

"He doesn't just give his hat out."

I shrugged again, walking into the tent. Alex, Heidi, and Kelly were sitting next to each other at one of the tables. Alex waved as she saw us, scooting over a bit so we could pull up some chairs. A coffee got placed in front of me. I thanked Kelly as I sipped at it.

"Lando's hat?"

"Oh my god, you all are relentless." The girls laughed as I shook my head.

"To be fair, that's two stories you've posted that involve Lando."

"I love you, Kelly. But it's kinda my job. I work for him."

"With him." Heidi clarified.

"Yeah, yeah. But it is part of my job."

"Him giving you that hat wasn't."

I gasped as I turned to Lily. I gave her a look that read traitor and she just laughed at me, resting her head on my shoulder.

"I came to say hi to my girls before the race started and all I'm getting is attacked."

I sat in my seat, watching as everyone ran around to get the last minute things done before the race. Lando and Oscar were probably sitting in the drivers room, doing whatever they did before their races. I would be okay just sitting here and watching. I had a screen in front of me and some headphones so I could hear everything.

Zak was pacing, standing off in the corner talking to Andrea. He waved when he saw me and I gave a quick one back, more focused on watching the way Izzy weaved in and out of it all with the photographers. It was like she was in her own world of girl power and heels. I knew that was going to be me in a few weeks and it made me feel more comfortable in the chaos.

"Riles!"

I saw Lando doing a light jog towards me and I adjusted in my seat so I could face him. "Yes?"

"What's your good luck charm?"

"Oh, uh. Probably my pendant." I pulled it out from behind my shirt. The silver chain held the small butterfly charm on it. "I don't go anywhere without it."

He nodded, looking down at it. "Pretty. I haven't seen it before."

"I usually keep it tucked in my shirt. Wait, why are you asking?"

"Oh, I was going to steal it but nevermind. I won't take it from you."

I raised an eyebrow. "I'm going to need you to explain."

"Well, you're my lucky charm. So I was going to steal yours. Maybe get that win. But that seems to important to take."

"I'm your lucky charm?"

He nodded. "Indeed. I realized that you were at the Miami Grand Prix when I won so. Lucky charm."

I snorted and leaned down to take a ring off my finger. It was a simple silver band with a star placed in the middle and held it out for him. I had gotten it when I received my letter telling me I got into my dream company but now, I felt this was a bit better.

"It's a bit small but here."

He smiled as he took it, sliding it on his middle finger and flexing his hand. "Perfect fit."

"You can keep it."

"Oh no. I was just going to wear it for races. I didn't want to steal it from you."

I brushed off his comment. "Keep it. I think it looks better on you anyways."

He smiled and leaned down, giving me a quick head butt. I giggled at the gesture as he ran off to go grab the rest of his things before the race.

As I sat there, watching him walk off with his engineers, I waved and he winked back at me. Oscar followed behind him and he smiled with a thumbs up. There went my boys. I prayed that they would win. And maybe I was a lucky charm. But as everything started to get a bit quiet as the lights started to run across and I realized that when this all fell apart, it would hurt.
