Y/N's P.O.V.

Mori walked ahead in silence, his footsteps echoing softly through the dim tunnel. I followed without a word, the tension between us thick and heavy. After what felt like forever, we reached an elevator. Mori entered without hesitation, and I stepped in after him. The doors slid shut with a quiet hiss, and the elevator began its ascent. The elevator stopped at the top of the Port Mafia's headquarters, and we stepped out.

Ahead of us stood large, imposing doors, guarded by two port mafia guards. They greeted Mori with a formal bow, and with a mere nod from him, they pulled the heavy doors open.

Inside, the room was engulfed in shadows. The only light came from the massive windows, where the curtains had been drawn back to reveal the glittering expanse of Yokohama at dawn—eerily quiet from this height.

"So, Y/N..." Mori's voice broke the silence, sharp and unsettling. "It must have been difficult for you, hiding your ability all this time. And killing my guards... well, that's a different matter, isn't it?"

I frowned. "I didn't kill them. I've already explained, before Dazai—"

"I know," Mori cut in, still smiling, his tone almost amused. "I know you didn't kill them. No need to be concerned."

"Then why—" I hesitated, unwilling to fall into his traps. "What did Dazai want you to tell me?"

Mori blinked, feigning innocence. "Dazai-kun? Oh, nothing. He didn't ask me to deliver any messages."

"What?" I snapped, frustration building. "You said we needed to talk in private because Dazai wanted you to tell me something."

Mori's expression shifted to casual indifference. "Ah, that. I may have... stretched the truth a bit." He shrugged, as if it was no big deal. "It was simply the easiest way to get you alone."

I stared at him, baffled. "Why would you need to meet me alone? If this is about transferring an agency member to the Port Mafia, now isn't the time—"

"We'll discuss that later," Mori interrupted smoothly, waving his hand dismissively. His smile returned, colder now. "There's something else I wanted to talk to you about. Your ability, Y/N."

Mori's gaze lingered on me, his smile unnerving. "Your ability is quite remarkable. It would be a shame to let it spiral out of control."

My heart raced, but I kept my expression neutral. "What are you getting at? It is under control right now , thanks to the President."

He chuckled softly, walking to the massive windows overlooking the city. "Temporarily, perhaps. But what happens when you're no longer a part of the agency? Or if something were to happen to Fukuzawa-dono?" He scoffed, "Do you know anything about Project Prometheus?"

I swallowed, unsure of where this was going. "Just rumors... something about experiments to give people abilities they didn't have."

"Ah, but it was much more than that," Mori's voice lowered, his words calculated. "It wasn't just about giving abilities—it was about refining them, making them more controllable, more predictable. Many children were subjected to brutal methods to force their abilities out. Most of them didn't survive."

My frown deepened. "And what does this have to do with me?"

Mori turned, his eyes narrowing in a way that made my skin crawl. "You were one of the subjects, Y/N. You were adopted shortly after the lab was destroyed. Your adoptive parents likely had no idea they were taking in a child with latent, unstable abilities."

I was stunned. "What are you talking about? Is this another one of your lies, like the one about Dazai?"

Mori's expression didn't change as he calmly retrieved documents from his desk and handed them to me. "These are your adoption records. After the lab's destruction, you were found on the streets, and your parents adopted you."
