"Damn, what time is it?" Higuchi muttered, a bit drunk herself.
"It's... uh... 2:15 a.m.," I slurred, already way too tipsy to keep it together. Being a lightweight, I'd completely lost track of how much I'd been drinking, and I couldn't stop myself from humming random songs, half-asleep and fully out of it.
The night had blurred at some point after my last turn. We'd played a few more rounds, with Gin eventually drifting off to sleep. Higuchi, looking equally out of it, was starting to nod off too. Meanwhile, I was still here, completely wasted and barely keeping my eyes open.
Higuchi's eyelids finally drooped shut, her head slumping onto her arms. "Guess... that's it for me," she mumbled as she faded out.
I blinked, swaying as I tried to piece together what she'd said. "Wait... my—my charger! Where's my... where'd I put it?" The realization hit me like a brick. I'd totally left it... somewhere. Near training room when I went to train with Chuuya? Yeah, that sounded right. "Gotta... gotta get it," I slurred to no one in particular.
Stumbling to my feet, I wobbled my way to the door, my vision a mix of spinning hallways and blurry walls. The ground seemed like it was playing tricks on me, but I wasn't about to let a tilting floor stop me. Nope! Not when my charger needed finding.
The hallways stretched and spun as I staggered toward the training room, every step feeling like I was walking on clouds... or maybe on a really bumpy boat? I couldn't quite tell. My head swayed as I muttered to myself totally drunk, "Charger... need my... my charger. Can't leave it... nope, no way..."
Finally reaching the door, I leaned against it with a triumphant, "Ha! Found the training room!" I stumbled in, only to find myself blinking at a very unexpected sight: Chuuya was standing there, mid-training routine, looking as sharp as ever, but also looking... well, a bit baffled to see me like this.
"Y/N?" he asked, his brows furrowing as he took in my state. "What the hell are you doing here?"
I squinted at him, trying to make sense of the situation through my fuzzy brain. "Chuuya!" I exclaimed, pointing at him like I'd just solved a grand mystery. "Didn't expect... you! Here! Right here. In... uh... your own training room. Hah!"
His expression shifted from confused to a mix of exasperation and amusement. "You're drunk."
"Pfft... drunk? Me? Nuh-uh, no way. I'm... totally fiiine," I slurred, stumbling a little as I took a step forward. "I just came here for my... uh... my charger! Yeah, left it... somewhere 'round here. Very important. Can't live without it, y'know?"
He folded his arms, watching me with that smirk that somehow made him look even more annoyingly confident. "Your charger. You came all the way here, at 2 a.m., completely wasted, for a charger?"
"Yup!" I nodded enthusiastically, though it made the room spin even more. "Gotta have it! And I'm... very, very committed to finding it, Chuuya. So... where'd it go?"
Chuuya watched me with one eyebrow raised as he took in my swaying stance and the determination in my very wobbly walk. "Y/N, you're completely hammered. You shouldn't be here," he said, crossing his arms, trying to sound all reasonable or whatever.
"Pssh, hammered?" I muttered, waving my hand like I was swatting away a fly. "I'm... I'm perfectly... fine!" I stifled a hiccup, which, I admit, didn't help my argument. "Just gotta... get my charger... and then—hic—back to the... you know, the... thing."
He rolled his eyes. "This is ridiculous. Let's get you back to your room."
I let out a giggle and, totally ignoring his logic, reached out to poke his shoulder. "You... you're really serious, aren't ya?" I slurred, eyes half-closed as I hummed a random tune. "La la... dum dum... can't tell me what to do, Chuuya! I... I've got places to be."
