XII: The Plan

(Joeys POV)

"I don't know if can do all of that."

My face fell as he said this. I had just finished giving Daniel advice on how to make the first move, hoping it would make him fall for me.

Instead I helped him get a boyfriend. That did not go as planned. I'm not going to give up though. I just can't give my hopes up.

"It's just... I only met him recently."

I thought about this for a while. It was probably someone who works on the video. It's probably the cute hair guy!

He is obviously gay and I saw him flirting with Daniel a few times. I had to think about something else before I became really jealous.

"Is it that cute hair guy? Never mind just trust me Daniel, you are a good looking guy! He will say yes. If you want you guys can double date with Shane and I?"

I know Shane wouldn't mind. It wouldn't be a date for us, we go out to dinner all the time together. Daniel smiled and finally looked up from the ground and at me.

His eyes twinkled and he nodded. Looks like we're double dating. I just wish I was the one with Daniel. I reached in for a hug and he happily leaned in.

If only he liked me back, I could do this whenever I wanted. We pulled away and continued eating our breakfast and watching Orange is the new Black.

(Later that day)

"So how did things go with Daniel this morning? Anything... Interesting... Happen?" Shane said with a wink. I wish.

"Bad. He told me that he and Luke broke up because he liked someone else."

Shane looked happy and I became confused. "How could that possibly be a good thing." Shane rolled his eyes and I still didn't know what he was getting at.

"Joey what if the guy he likes is you! I mean think about it!"

I did think about it but then I realized that doesn't make sense. "If I was the guy he dumped Luke for, then why would we be going on a double date with him and the guy he likes?"

Shane looked at me surprised. "Really Joey! You set us up on a double date?" He seemed more bothered by this than I thought he would be.

"There's just one little thing. We're not dating." He stared at me in the eyes and laughed slightly.

"I know we aren't dating! It's just like before, we go out to dinner all the time." Shane still didn't seem convinced.

"Does Daniel know that we aren't together? If you want him to like you, you should probably make sure he knows you are single!"

"He's knows that! Everyone knows that." Shane and I always joke that we are in a relationship but everyone knows we are just kidding. He nodded and changed the subject.

"So how are we going to get you and Daniel together gurl!?" We both laughed and he sat down beside me actually wanting to help.

This is why I love Shane. He is such a good friend, and he is hilarious. "I think Daniel and I should just spend more time together. I'll wear my best clothes on the date and try to talk to him as much as possible?"

Shane nodded and I added, "What about the guy Daniel is going with? What if the date goes well and they end up together?"

I was stressing myself out and began getting worried. What if my plans don't work and the guy of my dreams ends up with the guy of his dreams?

"Joey this is what you'll do. Have him come over tomorrow and try everything. Flirt a little, compliment him, and then if he does the same, make a move!"

I thought over what Shane said and came up with the perfect plan. I will come have him come over tomorrow night for dinner and to just hang out.

Since the date will be at lunch tomorrow we can discuss everything that happened and I can see if he really likes this guy or not. If he does I will back off. The last thing I want to do is hurt him.

If Daniel is happy and finally found someone I don't want to get in the way of that. I care about him and want him to be happy. I just wish I knew who his crush was?
