Divided by windows wide, across the building,
I longed for a glimpse of you,
Although apart and yearning. In silent conversations,
Where hearts would meet,
In moments soft and bright,
Our worlds would retreat.
Your smile, was a sun that lit my day,
Though the differences in age stood in our way.
With every glance, my heart would race,
Although forbidden, it's a sweet embrace.
When I watched you dancing in the rain,
Across the building, my heart took flight.
Your laughter, a melody so sweet,
That warmed me through the evening’s delight.
Our worlds were never meant to spin,
For the barrier between us was deemed unacceptable by society.
In my heart,
I was deeply driven by anxiety.
I sent flying kisses, with a gentle breeze of care,
But silence lingered through the air.
A tender bond, but too fragile to start,
One that carved a place in my heart.
Now that you are gone, and our love has flown,
The building is still there, but I feel alone.
But in my dreams, your face remains,
A lovely memory that time sustains.
