Parasite Devil

The orphanage was in shambles,kids scared to death after the recent news,an orphan and staff member have gone missing,it's scary because no one knows how or why this happened,along with the possibility that they might be next...
"Thank you for coming,Makima-san" one of the staff members bowed as Makima entered the orphanage along with a bunch of other men and women in suits,wasting no time in investigating the place,"we apologize for troubling you"
"no worries" Makima says with the faintest of smiles is barely noticeable,"I usually don't show up to such  investigations,but when I found out that the same boy who's been reading the comics I brought into the orphanage is the one that's gone missing,I felt personally involved in a way"
"Oh,you have no idea,Makima-San,Shin-chan was a big fan of the books you got for him,we really appreciate you coming here"
"No need for thanks,I'm simply doing my job,after all,this is my favorite orphanage" Makima nods at the staff with that faint smile of hers
"Hey...you think a devil ate Shin-Chan?"
"If i was a devil,I wouldn't eat him myself,he's hardly a snack!"
"Okay,but if you were a devil,what else would you do with Shin-Chan?"
"Uhh...I don't know,what *can* you do with him? Torture him for fun I guess"
The only thing Asa was able to do was listen to the kids gossip about the whereabouts of Ren,Asa thought it was funny and sad how everyone managed to remember him only after his disappearance and/or death,she's only known him for about a week,and yet,he's been a better friend to her than most kids at the orphanage,she should have known it was too good to be true,she can't have anything good in life,not even a friend...
"Meow..." Crambon brushes his head against Asa's shoe,Asa scooped him up and held him in her arms,storking his head,"at least you're here,Crambon..." Asa mutters weakly,she felt like her throat was going to explode,her eyes a bit wet,it's not fair,how can someone like Ren go out like that?  Out of everyone in the orphanage,why him? The only person here she was ever able to call a friend,again...she should have known,this world doesn't want kind hearted souls like him...
"Excuse me" Makima approaches the young,looking down at her with a soft smile,"can I talk to you for a moment?"
"Uh...sure..." Asa nods,looking up at the red haired woman,her eyes were weird looking,why were there black rings around her eyes?
"Are those books yours?" Makima asks in a gentle tone,noticing the pile of comics next to her,Makima recognized some of them,when she's out buying comic books to donate to this orphanage,she doesn't hand pick,she just takes whatever she finds,which ends up being alot...
"N-No...they're not..." Asa murmurs,they were the books Ren let her borrow,since he's not here anymore,she's holding onto them for memory
"I'm assuming they're for this...Shin-Chan everyone talks about?" Makima raises an eyebrow,Asa nodded,she remembers how Ren mentioned everybody would call him Shin-Chan
"I see...Do you mind telling me how he got them?" Makima tilts her head to the left slightly,her eyes never leaving Asa
"He said...there's this...nice lady that would come by to donate them to the orphanage...but he's never seen her himself..."Asa responds,still struggling to process that Ren might be dead.

Upon hearing the words "Nice Lady",Makimas smile widened,you'd think it was genuine for a second,"a nice lady,hm?" She chuckles softly,before noticing Crambon,"that's a nice kitten you have" Makima slowly reaches to pat Crambon's head while he was In Asa's arm
"Thank you..." Asa replies,she found relief in the fact this woman liked Crambon,at least someone liked him around here...
"I'm personally more into dogs,but cats are quite amusing aswell,don't you think?"
"Well...yeah..."
"MAKIMA-SAN!" One of the devils hunters ran up to Makima urgently,his face a little red and sweaty,he was panting,indicating he ran to reach her
"Yes?" Makima turned her attention to the devil hunter,her expressions unreadable,"we searched the area around the orphanage,there are traces of webs,it must be the spider devil!"
"Webs?"
"Yes ma'am,this way" the devil hunter leads her outside the orphanage and into the forest behind It,they arrive to see a large cobweb,and traces of torn up web sticking to one of the trees,Makima inspects the scene,trying to sniff out any familiar scents
"We've found traces of dried up blood too,we've already taken samples" the hunter says to makima,who crouched down to look at the blood stained soil,"hm...Devil blood" she mutters to herself,she ran her index finger over the dried up blood,she then sniffed her finger,trying to figure out the smell,"the Spider Devil's blood,this is strange..."
