hapter 26
You put your head in Newt's lap and close your eyes. He fully does up his sweater that you're wearing as it is getting cold. Newt starts to play with your hair. You fall asleep without Newt noticing. Newt stops rubbing your hair and is surprised when you don't ask him to keep going. He realises you fell asleep. He picks you up and brings you to his hut. He lays you down on his bed and drapes the blanket over you. He gets a warm bowl of water and cleans your blood stained pants so you don't have to. He takes out a blue note book and writes something down then smiles. You rummage in the covers. Newt looks over to make sure you're doing okay. He walks over to you and sees you are sweating. He gently pulls the blanket off and leaves the hut. He comes back a few minutes later with a bowl of strawberries and puts it on his desk across the room. He pulls the notebook out again and writes a sign that says
^I'm at the gardens, enjoy your strawberries!
Newt^
He leaves the hut.
You sleep for around twenty-five minutes and wake up in a cold sweat to the sound of thunder. You start to panic. You look over at his desk and see the note. You stop panicking. You read it and walk over to the strawberries. You eat them and smile at the letter Newt wrote you. You hear a loud clap of thunder and let out a small scream. Treasa walks in as she heard your scream.
“Y/n? Y/N! Why are you eating? You already ate today, (fatass.)” Treasa says walking over to you and forcing you to put the berries down.
“But-but-”
“You're going to tell Newt that you're trying to lose weight, or I'll throw you in the maze. Then I'll date Newt.” She cuts you off.
“Okay, i-i-i will.” You say with a tear dripping down your face.
Treasa leaves. You look at the strawberries now in disgust and sit at the desk and take a notebook from a pile of them. you flip to a random page and realise it has writing in it. It's not your handwriting, it's Newts. You start to read.
^entry 36- dear diary, that girl is so perfect. When her leg heals I want to take her to my favourite tree in the forest. The one that I always sit on when I need to think. I want to be with her forever, I hope she feels the same way. I hope she keeps eating, last time or I guess when she first came to the glade, the first time this happened and she got really sick. So Y/n please eat again and dont listen to that nasty girl, I love you.^
You flip back a page and journal entries 30-35 are there as well. Every entry is about how much Newt loves you.
