You wake up gasping for air and grabbing your foot in pain. Newt looks over at you half asleep.
“You alright?”
You try to catch your breath. You are wheezing for air as the dream really scared you. Newt sits up and looks at you. He puts his hand on your back and you fall back into his hands. He strokes your head with his hand. You are holding your breath forgetting to breathe.
“Y/n? Hey. Y/n?” he asks, tapping your arm.
You gasp for air again. You finally start to breathe normally. You take a deep breath and relax into Newt.
“Are you alright?”
“Y-yes I just h-had a bad d-d-dream.” you tell him while taking a few more deep breaths.
He lays down with you in his arms. It gives you a sense of safety, you fall back to sleep and slip into another dream.
You are sitting at a long metal table that has around 15 seats. You are sitting close to the head of the table where your mum sits, Deedee is across from you. There is a television at the other side of the room, across from you mum. She turns it on and changes to channel 250. Zombie-like creatures appear on the screen. They have vine-like skin and a black substance coming out of their mouths. Eyes as dark as the night sky (Gallys soul). Their bodies bent in unusual ways.
“Cranks.” mum says.
“What happened to those poor people?” You ask.
You get ignored.
We need to put more kids in the mazes. They can end it all so we can live in a safe place.” mum says
“B-but that's cruel! Only crazy p-p-people would do that!” You get ignored again.
“Deedee what do you think?” mum asks her.
“I think it's a great idea.”
“BUT BUT!” you get cut off by your mum.
“GARDS! TAKE HER AWAY! ALL SHE DOES IS INTERRUPT ME!”
“Yes Doctor”!
“WAIT PLEASE NO!” you yell getting taken away.
“Doctor Ava has spoken miss. I'm sorry. You're on room arrest until further notice.” a guard says
You get thrown in a room with a hard bed, grey walls and no windows. It's a cold room… it's… your room. You walk over to the bed and curl up on it and cry.
“Y/n? I'm sorry. May I come in?” your mum asks while knocking on your door.
“NO! I-I J-JUST WANT TO B-BE ALONE!” You yell at her
You can see her shadow from underneath the door. You look underneath your bed thinking about hiding as you know she will come in. you see a vent. You hear her keys juggling at the door trying to come in. you see if the vent is open. It is. You climb into it and you see something you never wanted to see. You wake up.
