That night, Mae and Javon found themselves texting late into the evening, the screen illuminated by their excited exchanges.

Mae: I had such a great time today!

Javon: Same here! I was thinking... can we hang out again? I love spending time with you, whether it's doing something fun or just chilling and eating.

Mae: YES! I would love that! 

She could barely contain her excitement, the prospect of a "date" making her heart race. Anya, sitting beside her, squealed in delight.

The next day, Mae put on a flared jean, a trendy off-the-shoulder top, and Isabel Marant shoes. She styled her hair in gorgeous waves, looking effortlessly stunning. Anya beamed with pride, taking a moment to admire her best friend.

"You're going to knock him off his feet!" Anya exclaimed.

When they finally met up, Javon wore a simple tee, baggy jeans, and his Air Jordan Low Travis Scotts. The moment he saw Mae, his expression shifted to one of admiration.

"Wow, Mae, you look incredible!" he said, unable to hide his excitement. "What's with the hair? You're stunning, but I have to say, I think I prefer your natural curls."

Mae felt a blush creeping up her cheeks, her heart fluttering at the compliment. "Thanks! I just thought I'd try something different."

As they sat down to eat, their banter flowed easily. Javon ordered spaghetti Bolognese while Mae opted for her beloved carbonara. When their food arrived, Mae couldn't help but tease him.

"Hey, you should really try my pasta. It's way better than yours!" she said, a playful grin on her face.

Javon raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Alright, hit me with it!"

She scooped a forkful and offered it to him. "Open wide!"

He laughed, leaning in to take a bite. "Oh wow, that's amazing! I should've gotten the same thing! I might have to steal some more later," he joked.

"I mean, you can always share with me!" she winked.

As they enjoyed their meals, Mae casually mentioned, "You know, you should really consider getting some Golden Goose sneakers. They'd suit you perfectly."

Javon smirked, "You're just trying to get me to look as stylish as you!"

"Absolutely! But really, they'd look great on you," she insisted, enjoying the lighthearted vibe between them.

He shifted his gaze to her hands, noticing her freshly done nails. "Speaking of stylish, I have to say, your manicure is on point! That French tip is everything."

"Thanks! I just got them done yesterday. Anya and I had a nail day," she said, pleased with the compliment.

"Your lips look different too. Did you change the shade?" he asked, his gaze lingering on her lips.

She laughed, enjoying the moment. "Oh, it's just different lip liner and gloss. Nothing fancy!"

"Whatever it is, it looks good," he said, leaning in a bit closer. "But you know what would look even better? When I can get a closer look at them."

Mae felt her heart race as she caught him glancing at her lips. "Oh really?" she teased, raising an eyebrow.

Javon, not one to shy away, took her hand gently, admiring her nails again. "I just really love your manicure. The pink tips are so cute. It's like you're ready for a date," he said with a cheeky grin.

Mae smiled shyly. "I mean, this is definitely a date..."

"Exactly! So I'm allowed to flirt a little, right?" he said, his tone playful yet sincere.

"Of course! Just don't blame me when you can't resist," she replied, her confidence growing.

They continued to flirt effortlessly, each playful comment deepening their connection. As the meal wound down, Javon leaned back in his chair, a satisfied grin on his face. "I had a blast tonight, Mae. You make everything more fun."

Mae felt a warmth in her chest. "Same here! I love hanging out with you. We should definitely do this more often."

"Absolutely," he replied, reaching across the table to squeeze her hand lightly. "Next time, maybe we'll make it a little more adventurous."

"Bring it on!" she laughed, feeling the thrill of their chemistry crackling in the air around them.
