The Rain

One droplet turned into torrential rain.

I struggled against Nidal trying to get to the bus.

"Damnit, stop it, Y/n!" Nidal pleaded, holding me closer.

My hair stuck to my face as the rain poured down drenching us both.

My heart sank as the bus doors closed and rumbled off. I watched crushed as it disappeared off into the distance. My chance of escape tonight is down to 0.01%.

Anger flashed through my eyes as I stared up at Nidal.

"Happy? Happy now that you made me miss my chance of freedom and escape?!" I said, my voice rising over the sound of rain splashing down.

Nidal shook his head, his hair soaked.

"No, I'm sorry you feel that way, but you have to listen! My family cares for you and wants you to be safe and feel safe. I care about you. I care about you a lot." He trailed off, biting his bottom lip and staring anywhere but me.

"I'm just scared. I don't want to go back to my life before. Constant fear." I mumbled.

He looked down at me, finally holding eye contact.

"I won't let that happen. You deserve the world." He said firmly, brushing my hair out of my face.

"You're just saying that."

"I promise I'm not. It's true. I'd do anything to see you smile." He responded, cupping his hands to my face, his thumb caressing my cheek.

"So will you come back?" He asked hopefully. I nodded defeated.

"Yeah. I'll come back."

He smiled his finger, tracing my jaw and tilting my head up to face him.

"Good. I'm glad to hear that."

I bit down nervously on the inside of my cheek, not being able to take my eyes off his.

"God, your eyes are gorgeous. I could look at them forever." Nidal admired tilting his head slightly, his hand still on my chin.

Before I even had a chance to think about anything, his lips crashed down on mine.

It was as if every problem in the back of my mind vanished. All the voices screaming at me to pull him closer.

His other hand went to my waist.

My hands slid up into his hair.

We both pulled apart, panting slightly our foreheads pressed together, completely forgetting about the rain still gushing down.

"Wow." He breathed.

"Wow, indeed, who knew you were such a good kisser." I grinned teasingly.

He smiled down at me, a small chuckle escaping his lips.

"Same to you."
