Yuri's room door creaked open, and she looked up with tear-filled eyes. Her vision was blurry from crying, but she could still make out the figure standing at the doorway. Her voice broke as she whispered, "I don't want to see anyone... please, just leave me alone."
But instead of leaving, the figure quietly stepped inside, closing the door behind them. He moved closer, and she felt a presence beside her, someone quietly sitting down.
"How did you open the door?" Yuri asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Yoongi held up a small key between his fingers, showing her the spare. "I always have the access," he said softly.
Yuri looked down, unable to meet his eyes, the weight of everything pressing heavily on her chest. The silence between them felt thick with unspoken words, until Yoongi finally broke it.
"You must be having many questions, right?" His voice was gentle, yet full of understanding.
Yuri nodded slightly but remained quiet, her emotions too raw to put into words.
Yoongi started, his voice gentle as he began, "You know, Yuri... Namjoon, Jin, and Tae were so happy when they first saw you. You were just a baby, and they treated you like their own sister from the start."
Yuri stayed silent, her tears barely under control, as Yoongi continued.
"They took care of you, loved you so much. They'd play with you, feed you, protect you... But one day, everything changed." His voice trembled slightly. "That day, they were out with their father. And while they were gone, the mansion caught fire. You and your mom... were inside."
Yuri's breath hitched.
"When the fire was finally put out... they only found your mom's body. They searched everywhere for you, but you were... gone. Lost. They thought you were dead. And then... Seungmin, in his rage, killed your father. Everything was taken away from them—your brothers lost both their parents, their home, and... you.""
Yoongi's words hung in the air, and Yuri's tears fell silently, her heart heavy with the weight of the past she never knew. Yuri clenched her fists, her heart aching at the thought of her brothers—Jin, Namjoon, and Taehyung—suffering all this time.
"Jin hyung was the heir to your father’s mafia throne," Yoongi added, his voice shaking slightly. "But he declined it. He said he was the eldest, and that meant he had to take care of his siblings. He was only 18 at the time, Yuri. Eighteen. He took on the weight of the world. He took care of Namjoon and Taehyung, all while searching for you. Because he believed... he knew you were still alive."
A sob escaped Yuri’s lips, and Yoongi gently placed a hand on her shoulder. "You know, he blames himself for not saving you. He couldn’t fulfill his responsibility of protecting his baby sister. That guilt has eaten him alive for years."
Tears streamed down Yuri's face as the pain of her brothers, of her lost family, and of her unknown past finally hit her.
Yoongi replied softly. "They never stopped. Jin hyung never forgave himself for not being able to save you. But now... now you're here, Yuri. And they love you more than anything."
Yoongi took a deep breath, collecting his thoughts as he continued to pour out the painful truth. "Namjoon, who was just 16 at the time, took on all the responsibilities of being the mafia heir. He trained hard, knowing they had the option to leave this world behind, but they didn’t. They made themselves stronger, not just to survive, but to find you."
He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in. "Namjoon is the one who never said it out loud, but he loved you the most. Don't let his words fool you; he just wanted to keep you safe. When your father was killed, Namjoon, at the age of 16, gathered alliances to take revenge on Seungmin. He was determined. There was no way he would back down."
