After the lunch date with Joshua, Wonwoo gently led Yuri to his room. She followed, but the tension between them was palpable. Her heart was still heavy with the hurt caused by him and DK.
As soon as they entered, she made her way to the balcony window, staring out silently. The cool breeze touched her face, but it did little to ease the turmoil inside.
Wonwoo approached her, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind in an attempt to comfort her. But she stiffened immediately, jerking his hands away. Without a word, Yuri walked over to his bed, sat down, and picked up a book from the bedside table. She flipped to the bookmarked page, pretending to read, but it was clear she was shutting him out.
Wonwoo sighed, watching her as she deliberately ignored him. The weight of her hurt was clear, and it made his chest tighten with guilt. He walked over to the bed slowly, sitting down beside her, careful not to invade her space.
"Yuri..." he began softly, his voice almost hesitant. "I know I messed up. I hurt you, and that’s something I can’t take back, no matter how much I wish I could."
She didn't look at him, her eyes fixed on the book, but he could see the tension in her posture. Wonwoo reached out gently, placing his hand on the book to stop her from flipping the page.
"Please, hear me out," Wonwoo pleaded, his voice heavy with desperation. Yuri's hands stilled on the book, but she kept her eyes downcast, refusing to meet his gaze.
"You mean everything to me," he continued, stepping closer, his voice trembling with sincerity. "The thought of losing you because of my own stupidity terrifies me. I’ve spent so much time thinking about how to make things right, how to show you that I love you more than anything else." He hesitated, his throat tightening as he admitted, "I made a mistake with Sana... after I got drunk. I let myself lose control, and I swear, it'll never happen again. I'll never look at another girl, Yuri. You're the only one for me. Always."
Yuri sighed, her shoulders slumping as she placed the book aside. Her heart was conflicted, torn between the love she had for him and the pain his actions had caused. "It’s not just about you looking at any other girl, Wonwoo." She finally spoke, her voice soft but filled with hurt. Her eyes welled up as she continued, "But how could you let her abort the baby? The baby didn’t do anything wrong. You were drunk—I get that—but having a baby is a blessing. You both could’ve figured things out... even if you didn’t love her."
Tears brimmed in Yuri’s eyes as she looked at him, searching for answers. Wonwoo's face was etched with regret, and his voice broke as he responded, "But I didn’t love her, Yuri. I didn't want that life with her... I didn’t want to be a father like that, not with someone I didn’t care for." He stepped closer, his voice barely a whisper now. "I didn’t even know how to be one. All I could think about was how it felt... but none of that matters now because I made the right choice because i have you now."
His words hung in the air, thick with emotion, as Yuri’s tears finally spilled over.
Yuri wiped her eyes, her voice trembling as she asked, "Wonwoo… if it were me, if I were pregnant… would you tell me to abort too?"
Her words hung in the air, and her tearful gaze bore into his as she continued, "Tell me, because I’m scared. I’m scared that you don’t want that responsibility, that you’ll never want it… even with me."
Wonwoo's breath caught in his throat as he looked at her, the weight of her question sinking deep. He took a step closer, but her vulnerability made him pause. His voice was thick with emotion as he tried to find the right words.
