It was the next week and varsity hadn't tried anything. The Duckies got extremely suspicious at that, but they continued on.
They lost their game, 4-2 yesterday and Whitey kept them all night doing laps and stuff. He didn't let them go until almost midnight. Poor Lucas, Keenan, and Sean had to either wait forever to get picked up or they had to walk it.
It was during first period and all the Duckies had it together; Health. The whole team was sleeping most of the period and all got detention.
Whitey wasn't very happy with them. "If this was a game day, we would've forfeited. Detention goes into game time."
"We apologize, Whitey, s-"
Whitey blows his whistle. "Ambrose, laps now!"
"Coach, he did-"
"You can join him, O'Donoghue." Whitey send Nathan with Justin. "Do any of you want to join them." He was talking sternly. "If not, tell me what I've been hearing about you guys and varsity?"
More than half of the team go join in laps. Skills steps up. "Coach, we're all sorry. We know you said to stay away from them until the showdown. I promise that won't happen again."
"Good, because as captain," Whitey folds his arms. "You need to lead by example, Taylor. Now be a leader and lead the warmups."
Skills nodded and called everyone in. He had them do their warmups and Whitey practiced their shooting skills.
Every time they would miss a goal, they would do a lap. A lot of laps were being done. Bryce, Verity, Aneli, Skills, and Josue took the least laps in the thirty minutes of practice. With Bryce only taking one.
"Okay, we're done!" Whitey blew his whistle. "Hit the lockers!"

The Duckies decided to go into town, courtesy of Aneli Moreau. They went to this little café called Toni's or Tami's, or something. Aneli got the team three booths.
About four to five people per booth. In Verity's booth it was her and Aneli on one side, Bryce and Keenan on the other.
A middle aged woman with curly blonde hair and a notebook came up to the booths. "Hello, i'm Candace and I'll be your waitress for today. What can I start you off with?"
"Hey, Candace." Aneli smiled big. "We're going to get two milkshakes, a thing of vanilla ice cream, a slice of apple pie, and a basket of fries, please."
Candace jots that down. "What flavor milkshakes would you like?"
"Uh, a chocolate." Bryce speaks up for himself. "Sweetheart, what do you want?"
Verity smiles to the waitress. "I'll get strawberry, please."
"Sure thing." Candace smiles to the group and Verity thinks her smile looks familiar. "Your items will be out in a moment, dears." She moves down to the next booth of kids.
Verity looks back to Aneli. "So who got the pie?"
"She did." Keenan answered. "I got the ice cream. I had her order, I don't do good with that sorta stuff."
Bryce nods in understandment. "That used to be me too, I had my little sister Rosalie order for me. I grew out of it though."
"Maybe I can too." Keenan shrugs to himself. "Anyways, what do you think varsity is planning? They've been really quiet."
Aneli looks down. "A bit too quiet." She clicks her tongue. "I say we keep our guard up."
"I think so too." Verity agrees with her friend. "I don't trust them. Especially Rachel and Jenkins."
