Weeks have passed and Verity has gotten closer with two of the Velez's, them being Carlisle and Clara. Caroline was always with Clara, but Verity and her didn't really talk.

"Astor!" Clara called out for Verity. Verity didn't know how Clara found out about Astor, but she did. "There you are."

    Clara ran up to her. "Hey, Velez." Verity said to her. "Need something?"

    "Did you see where Ivonne went? You just had a class with her." Clara looked around the corridor.

    "You were waiting outside the class for Ivonne?" Verity started walking down to her locker. "That stuck up?"

    Clara laughed. "She has Caroline's homework. She's sick. Oh, there she is!" She ran down after the other girl.

    Verity continued to her locker. "Hey, doll face." Bryce was there.

    "Hey, Banksie." She said back, opening the locker.

    Bryce peered inside the locker. "Where's your little escort?" He asked casually.

    "Carlisle? Uh, I think he's sick or at his class already." Verity shrugged and grabbed her books. "Where's your puppy dog at?"

    Bryce had a small smile on his face before it dropped. "Corinne is.. somewhere." He brushed off the subject. "Anyways, Justin says it's a good idea if you and Aneli came with us to the diner today after school."

    Aneli appeared. "Where I'm I going?"

    "Justin wants us to go to the diner after school with him and B man." Verity summed up, closing her locker and the trio started walking. "Feel up to do it?"

    Aneli smiled big. "Of course! I can go over prom details with him." She wiggled her eyebrows. "Found an escort to go yet?"

     Bryce perked up. "I already told you, Neli." Verity turned around. "I'm not going."

Bryce was going to say something, but he got cut off before he got the chance. "V, you're running out of time; it's four months, two weeks, two days, and eleven hours away."

"My prom date will be my bed and blanket." Verity continued walking. "Throw in some gummies and I'll be all set."

Bryce got cut off again. "Verity, come on! You have to go with me." Aneli sighed. "In my head you were gonna wear red and me pink."

"I'll think on it." Verity turned to Bryce. "We'll see you at Toni's." The girls walked into their next class.

    Bryce watched them go inside. "You got this, Bryce." He told himself. "Do it before it's too late."

    "Oh, Bry." Corinne sing-songed before she started talking a lot.

    Bryce was only half-paying attention to her. He was coming up with a game plan in his head. He occasionally nodded listening to her.

    "Okay, so we're on?" Corinne asked him.

    Bryce nodded his head. "Hmm? Oh, yeah. Totally." She smiled huge before hugging him and skipping off to her next class. "What did I say yes to?" Bryce got confused before brushing it off.

    Skills, Matt, and Zach saw the whole thing. "Hmph." Skills grunted at Bryce. "Think he meant it?"

    "I dunno what he means anymore." Matt shrugged.

    Zach looked at Bryce longer. "I don't think he knows what he did."

    "Better hope that's true, Z guy."

Skills told Aneli what happened with Bryce and Corinne Velez. "Ugh, thanks." Aneli rolled her eyes. "See you, Skills."

Verity was waiting for her at the entrance. "There you are. Come on, we're gonna be late." Verity and Aneli started walking to Aneli's car. "I'll drive this time."

"Do you even know how to drive?" Aneli didnt give her the car keys. "I'm driving."

Verity huffed and got into passenger. Aneli started driving to the diner and they were silent. Verity noticed Aneli was annoyed at something.

They got out the car and go inside the building. "Miss Dior, Fruit Loops, over here." Justin called out to them.

Him and Bryce were at a booth against a window. "Hey, Just." Verity smiled to him. "Bryce." She looked to the other boy.

"Babes. Neli." Bryce said to both of them.

Justin scooted down his side of the booth for Aneli. "Banks. Justin." Aneli sat down next to him and doesn't look at Bryce.

Verity thought that was weird. "So, want to order anything?" Bryce asked everyone. "I'll pay."

"You were gonna pay anyways." Verity said. "We left our money in the car." She pointed to herself and Aneli.

Justin laughed. "We'll just get a tray of fries and something to drink. It's still early." He reassured Bryce.

"Fine with me. And by that, I mean my wallet."

    It was an hour later and Aneli still hasn't talked directly to Bryce yet. Justin noticed it. "Neli, you haven't said anything to Bryce at all yet."

     Aneli looked at Justin. "So?"

    "He's one of your best friends." Justin said again. "Are you mad at him or something?"

    Verity ate fries and watched them. "Yeah, are you?" Bryce asked her directly. "Did I do something?"

    Aneli scoffed and looked at him right in the face. "You know what you did." She grabbed fries.

    "Nells, if he's asking, then he doesn't know." Verity told the state senates daughter. "Tell him what he did and we could get this all over with."

    Aneli sighed and looked at Bryce again. "Bryce here said yes to the promposal from Corinne Velez earlier."

    Verity and Justin looked at Bryce. "You did what?"

    "I did what?" Bryce also said. "I didn't say shit to Cori."

    Aneli mumbled before talking clearly. "Well, Skills begs to differ."

    "Of course Skills told you that." Bryce leaned back. "Of course he did."

    "Zach was also there." Aneli added. "And I think he said Matt as well."

    Verity leaned her head back. "Huh." Justin glanced at her.

    "After all you were saying about Verity and prom then you go and say yes to Velez." Aneli scoffed, getting up. "V, come on."

    Aneli walked off and Verity groaned before standing up and going after her. "Sorry." She apologized to the boys. "Aneli, wait up."

    They go outside to the car. "Stupid fuck." Aneli was insulting Bryce. "That pig-headed shit." She pulled out of parking.

    "Nells, what did you mean back there? The part about me and prom." Verity inquired.

    Aneli huffed. "That bitch told me he was gonna do a promposal for you and we were planning it. He was gonna buy your favorite stuff and everything."

    Verity looked at her. "You being for real? It's clear that him and Velez were gonna go."

    "Well, I looked past that." Aneli was still mad. "Now, to piss him off, go with Skills or something."

    Verity rolled her eyes and leaned back. "I'm not doing that. They were just starting to get along."

    "Fine, but you are going to prom so you can show him what he missed." Aneli said.

    Verity shook her head. "If I go to prom, I'll be going for myself."

    Aneli squealed. "That means you are going! Yay! I'm so doing your hair."

    "That wasn't a yes."

    "It's close enough."
