Showdown

"If it isn't the Junior Varsity Eden Hall Ducks." Jenkins said as the team emptied the lockers. "Hiya, Duckies."

Skills rolled his eyes. "What do you guys want." Zach goes up to them.

"Woah, tell your little dog to back it down." Rachel laughed a bit. "We just wanted to wish you guys luck for next week. You know, from Ducks to the Duckies."

Aneli rolled her eyes. "We're all Ducks here. Some more than others."

"Just because your parents were the originals doesn't make you more special." Rachel rolled her eyes.

Aneli scoffed. "Bitch, I'll make you ride the short bus."

Verity looked at her. "Aneli, stop. That's mean."

"Yeah, listen to your girlfriend." Jenkins looked at Aneli and Verity.

Bryce goes up. "Shut your trap, Jenkins."

"Do we have a problem here?" Whitey strolled up to them.

Rachel sweetly smiles. "Nothing, Coach Whitey. Just waiting for the Duckies to pass so we can get ready for our game."

"Go along, Ms Madison." Whitey gives her the stink eyes when her and varsity pass by. "I would stay on edge with those two next week."

    It was time for the JV/Varsity showdown and Whitey told them the gameplay. The game started and Verity took a seat on the bench, Sean taking her spot on the ice. Whitey didn't put her in so she watched the game, hoping to figure out Varsity's tactics they're playing with.

After the first and half of second period, varsity got into the lead. 2-1. Damian switched with Lucus and got in the game. He defended the goal and got the puck, passing it to Aneli.

A varsity player tried to check Aneli, but missed and checked the wall. Verity laughed a bit, perhaps a little too loud, and the varsity coach glared to her.

The Duckies stole another puck from varsity but lost it when they went for offense. The varsity player shot the puck and Randy wasn't prepared for it.

Luckily, Zach did good defense and reflected the puck before it went to the net. The Duckies cheered for him and the buzzer sent off, indicating the break before third period. Verity was worried they were going to lose by how they were playing so far.

"They're cheep shooting us!" Skills complained, once the break started and they skated in. "You need to put in us 3's together."

Whitey gave a look at his team. "The threes, huh? Hmm. Banks take center, Moreau go left, and... Portman do right. Captain, keep your position."

The team smiles and goes onto the ice. The three's, plus Nathan and Matthew, went to their spots.

The puck dropped and Bryce shoved down Jenkins before stealing the puck.

He passed it to Aneli and started checking players. "Vit!" Aneli yelled, passing over the puck before getting checked to the floor. Verity caught it and shot in the puck, barely making it in as the puck grazed the top of goaltenders glove.

Verity and Aneli side hugged each other before resetting. The puck dropped and Jenkins got the puck, checking Bryce down and skating to the net. Aneli reached him first and tried to check him, only to get checked by Rachel Madison.

"Get him, Portman!" Whitey was yelling from the bench. Verity skated faster and body checked Rachel. She sent her flying and she stole the puck.

"No hard feelings!" Jones yelled before checking Verity and stealing the puck. She fell to the ice, but quickly got back up and skated after the boy. Defense had the same idea.
