Dinner and Doctors

    It was a few weeks later and Verity was getting her cast off. Bryce and Aneli went with her. "So, Miss Portman, how does it feel?" The nurse asked as Verity flexed her wrist around.

    "Normal." She smiled. "I'll be up to date in no time." Her comment was directed to Bryce and Verity.

The nurse writes on her clipboard. "Great. Just make sure you take it easy."

"She will." Aneli assured. "We'll watch her." Bryce nodded. "Bye." The trio started leaving the office and heading towards the cafeteria. "Oh, I have to do something before practice. I'll leave you two alone." She discreetly elbowed Bryce before leaving.

Aneli walks off and leaves her friends alone. "You think I'll be good for practice today?" Verity asked as her and Bryce turned out of the cafeteria.

"Wouldn't recommend going today, babes." Bryce suggested. "Coach is pulling a Whitey and having us meet at the football field. I imagine Whitey gave her some tips."

Verity makes a face. "I'll start next practice."

"Uh, speaking of practice," Bryce brings up as they reached the courtyard. "You free after it?"

Verity shakes her head. "Maybe. Depends on if I'm still here by then."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Verity gave a small smile. "I'm going to Toni's with Trey after their practice. He needs help in geometry. So I was gonna tutor him."

"Oh." Bryce's demeanor changed. "You think our little froot loop is done? I definitely need to talk with her."

Verity sighed and crossed her arms. "Why do you suddenly always need to talk with Neli whenever I bring up doing something with Trey?"

"Coincidences." Bryce doesn't explain further and leaves the courtyard.

Verity rolled her eyes and sat at the fountain. She watched the water fall down as she ripped a flower from nearby. She starts tearing the petals off and throwing them into her water.

"Did you have a fight with your little boyfriend?" Mindy watched her.

    Verity continued ripping the petals. "Male minds are so stupid. I talk about Trey, Bryce gets irritated and leaves. Bryce mentions him and I answer, he gets irritated and leaves. It's like I can't say anything revolving him."

    "Okay... how about we step away from those poor flowers and come over here." Mindy gestured to where she was standing. "And tell me how your little love triangle is doing."

    Verity gave her a look. "I am not in a love triangle, Melinda. Trey doesn't like me, Bryce doesn't either."

     Mindy took a breath. "But you do."

    "It's not a love triangle." Verity repeated. "Why does everyone tell me it is." She walked away before getting a response.

    Maybe Kataryna was right; she is love blind.

    Verity was in the library waiting on JV's practice to finish. "Hmm." She was in the math section looking for a geometry book. "Uhh, this could work i guess." She pulled one off the shelf.

    "BOO!" Trey picked her up from behind and pretended to bite her neck. "I so got you."

    Verity screamed before laughing. "TREY!" She smacked him. "Ugh, you ruined my hair!"

    Trey laughed and put her down. "So, you ready to go?"

    "Yep." She raised the math book. "Let's go help you pass geometry."
