Verity woke up with a headache. She groaned and sat up, looking around as she did so. She was confused on where she was.
"This isn't my dorm." Verity said to herself. "What the-?" She looked down at her clothes. She was in different clothes from what she wore to the party.
Verity took a better look around the room, hoping to recognize it. She didn't. She got up and looked around the floor for her shoes.
"Good morning." Verity turned around and Carlisle was standing there.
Verity was more confused now. "Carlisle? Where are we? We aren't in your dorm, are we."
Carlisle closed the door behind him. "Oh, no, no, no. None of us Velez's have dorms here; we live nearby. This is a friend of mine."
"How'd I get here?" Verity asked again.
"I brought you here." Carlisle sat on the end of one of the beds. "Do you not remember?" Verity shook her head. "Oh. You had a crazy night."
Verity grabbed her forehead and sat back down, disregarding finding her shoes. "So.. what happened?"
Carlisle shifted in his seat. "Uh, you sure?" Verity nodded. "Okay. I, uh, found you completely hammered against a rock. You were still drinking, mumbling about a Trey Unions."
"Ew." Verity mumbled.
The male Velez continued. "I picked you up and helped you walk. Then, Cori and Cam came over and started stuff, well mostly just Corinne. You have a pretty bad mouth when you're drunk, Verity."
Verity chuckled. "Uh, thanks?"
"Then I took you away after you told her off and then you saw." He abruptly stopped, giving a weary look. Verity nudged him. "Uh, Cam and Trey were really in their feels and then you, kind of, got him back..?"
Verity sat up. "What'd I do?" Carlisle didn't look at her. "What did I do?"
"You kind of.. made out with me in front of him..." Carlisle slowly said. "He stomped off without Cam so I supposed your idea worked?"
Verity waved her arms. "I'm sorry for doing that to you. I think that was the alcohol talking and not me."
Carlisle gave a reassuring smile. "It's alright. But you should get up and get ready. You went AWOL last night so I believe your friends are looking for you."
Verity slowly nodded. "Right."
-
"There you are!" Aneli yelled. "I've been looking for you since I realized you never came to the dorms last night."
Verity rubbed her temples. "I'm fine, Nells." She assured her friend. "Carlisle took care of me."
Aneli perked up. "Carlisle Velez? The Carlisle Velez!? What happened?"
"Nothing happened." Verity said and Aneli gave a sly look. "It's true. All he did was make sure I was safe from the party and stuff."
Aneli gave another look. "Well, how sweet of him." Verity mumbled as they go into the cafeteria for lunch. "You won't believe what happened last night. Justin asked me out for prom! Can you believe it?"
"Prom is a million months away." Verity grabbed a tray. "Why is he asking now?"
Aneli laughed. "Prom is six months away actually." She grabbed some food. "Anyone ask you yet?"
"Har har." Verity walked to a table. "I don't think I'll go to prom. It's not senior prom, so it's not important."
Aneli took her seat. "You're joking, right? Junior prom is just as important as senior prom!"
