Clear Ups

Verity, Bryce, Skills, and Zach come out of the lockers after practice. Kevin caught them. "Hey, new Ducks." He said to them. "Come by dorm #117 after dinner; it's mine and David's."

"Why?" Zach looked at him.

Kevin was shorter than Zach and had to look up at him. "You'll see. It's customary for new guys." Was all he said before dipping.

The group of friends look at each other. "You guys going?" Skills started walking again.

"Yeah." Verity answered. "I'll bring Aneli just in case."

Bryce ran his hands through his hair. "I promised Justin I'd help him with something."

"I was going to go into town with Matthew and the new guys." Zach said after Bryce. "Sorry."

Skills shrugged him off. "Nah, it's cool. Me and V girl can go alone. I'll probably bring Nathan or Lucas like how V is bringing Aneli."

"Yeah." Verity says and Bryce holds her as they passed by Trey, Melinda, and Demarcus. "Oh, hey Trey, Melinda, and Demarcus."

Melinda waves at her. "Hey, Verity." She looked at the boys. "Skills, Zach, and Bryce hi. Oh and, Verity, you don't have to call me Melinda. My friends call me Mindy."

"And mine call me Dj." Demarcus adds on. "From Demarcus Jonathan."

Verity nodded. "Did you guys have a good practice with Whitey? He didn't make you guys suffer did he?"

Mindy shook her head. "No, although he did take Freddy to the football field for something." The group shudder. "Wait, was that a bad thing?"

"Very." They all agree with her. "Try to not get sent to the field."

She made a mental note of that. "So, where are you guys going?" Trey asked them.

"No where to be exact." Verity answered him. "Where are you guys going?"

    Trey shrugged. "Just looking around. We didn't really get to. Freddy and Diane are with the others; they got to explore the school already."

    "Oh, I'll show you guys around." Verity offered. "I know the school pretty well." She walked over to Mindy and Dj and stood between them. "Skills, I'll see you at the thing." She said before leading the small group away from the three boys looking at her walk away.

    Verity showed them around the school. Like the fountain, the horse stables, the fields, and all that.

    As they were making their way back for dinner, they were in a small conversation. "So are you and Banks dating?" Mindy asked out loud.

Trey suddenly turned around and started listening. "Why does everyone always ask me that?"

"He calls you babes and baby and sweetheart and all that stuff." Dj answered.

Verity sighs. "No, me and him aren't dating. He calls me babes 'cause that's part of my mom's hockey nickname; The Bash Babe."

"So you're basically up for grabs?" Mindy says and shoots Trey a look. Trey elbowed her back.

Verity gives her a look. "I wouldn't put it like that but yeah. Why you know someone for me?"

"I could think of one." She smirked back and Trey switched the conversation.

"How many siblings you have?"

It was after dinner and Verity was walking with Aneli to dorm #117. They were going down the hall. "Do you even know what this is for?" Aneli asked.
