When they reached downstairs, among a lot of guests she noticed someone whom she never anticipated or expected. Daneen was here with their mother for the ritual of bringing breakfast to the daughter's inlaws on the first day of marriage. Andaleeb couldn't believe in her own sight. How came she was here? Her sister, her friend, her soulmate, and someone whom she hurt the most. Did she forgive him?
She rushed over to both of them, her eyes becoming wet.
"Dani," she whispered. "You came to meet me."
Her sister seemed more beautiful to her than ever. Wearing a heavy black embroidered dress with a pointed look, she gave more of a married woman vibe than her.
Daneen smiled. "How are you?"
"Definitely relieved after seeing you and Mama. It's like I found water in a scorching desert. I missed you so much, Dani," she mumbled, getting touched up by everything. She had so much to talk to Daneen. Too much to ask from her. Whether she was fine or not, how was Mohid's behavior with her, and did she ever forgive her or not? However, that wasn't the place for these questions. Masab's family was gathered here, eyeing her already with curiosity and hawk's eyes. They just wanted to catch one misbehavior or mistake by her so that they could speak about it.
These were all those people who either wanted Masab to marry their daughter or considered Andaleeb some random girl who seduced him. Ironically that was her intention earlier. She would have loved to rebel to bring dishonor over Masab and his family. But now after the obvious and open threat he gave her, Andaleeb couldn't risk anything like that so soon.
When Aurang died, she didn't know it. She was one of the big reasons for his death. However, she couldn't have stopped it. But now she couldn't put his sister's life in danger for her sake as well. A human life is much more important, precious, and worthy than some selfish claims and retribution. And an innocent person losing her life because of something unrelated to her was bothersome. Masab was cruel and merciless but she wasn't. Hence she was forced to appear fine and act nicely with these people whom she despised the most.
Fariha hugged her tightly and that was when she realized her mother was silently telling her to accept everything without uttering any word of complaint. As though whatever happened had no effect on her. As though it hadn't hurt her the most. But perhaps her mother wanted the best for her to say yes to everything happily. Because she really had no way out of it. None would accept her ever again. Ironically the man who would ever accept her was the one because of whom she had to see this day. So weird but the reality!
Bi Jan was affectionate and caring. She welcomed her with a wide smile and open arms.
"Masha Allah, my Masab's bride, is so beautiful. Every evil eyes off." Bi Jan gave her so many blessings as she kissed her forehead.
