The weight of the secrets surrounding Jeevika’s family pressed heavily on her as she sat in the dimly lit room, still reeling from the conversation with the nurse. The truth was out there, lurking in the shadows, and she was determined to uncover it.The next morning, as Abhiman left for work, Jeevika remained behind, deep in thought. She knew she had to act quickly before Kamini could manipulate the situation further. Her mind was racing with questions: Who was Janvi’s real father? What role did her father play in all this? And most disturbingly, could Kamini have had a hand in her mother’s death?
Jeevika paced the room, unable to shake the growing sense of dread. She needed answers, and there was only one person left who could help her—her father’s closest friend, Mr. Deshmukh. He had been around during her parents' marriage, and he would have known if something was amiss.
Determined to get to the bottom of things, she dialed Mr. Deshmukh's number.

Later that afternoon, Jeevika met Mr. Deshmukh at a quiet café, away from prying eyes. The old man looked surprised but pleased to see her.
“Jeevika beta, it’s been so long! Tumne kyun yaad kiya mujhe?” he asked, smiling warmly.
Jeevika forced a smile in return, trying to hide her inner turmoil. “Uncle, mujhe aapse kuch important baat karni hai. Papa ke purane doston mein se aap hi ek hain jo abhi bhi humare saath hain. Main kuch sawaal poochna chahti hoon… about Kamini aunty.”
Mr. Deshmukh’s expression shifted from warmth to concern. He leaned in, lowering his voice. “Kamini? Kya baat hai, Jeevika? Tum itni pareshan kyun lag rahi ho?”
Jeevika took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. “Main kuch din pehle hospital gayi thi. Wahaan ek purani nurse mili jo Kamini aunty ko jaanti thi. Usne mujhe bataya ki Janvi unke pehle pati ki beti nahi hai. Woh already pregnant thi uss waqt jab unhone pehli shaadi ki.”
Mr. Deshmukh’s eyes widened, and he sighed deeply, leaning back in his chair. “Beta, tum sachai ke bahut kareeb ho. Yeh jo tumne suna hai… yeh sach hai.”
Jeevika’s heart pounded in her chest. “Lekin Uncle, Janvi ka asli baap kaun hai? Aur yeh sab mere papa se shaadi ke baad kyun hua?”
The old man hesitated for a moment, as if debating whether to tell her everything. Finally, he spoke.
“Tumhare papa ek ache insaan the, lekin unhone apni shaadi ke baad bhi Kamini ko apni zindagi mein laane ka galat faisla kiya. Kamini kaafi chalak thi, aur tumhare papa ko manipulate kiya. Janvi tumhare papa ki beti nahi hai, lekin main itna keh sakta hoon ki Kamini ne jo bhi kiya, woh sirf apni faayda ke liye kiya.”
Jeevika’s head was spinning. “Lekin mere papa ne unse shaadi kyun ki, agar woh sach nahi jaante the? Aur meri maa? Kya unki maut bhi…?”
Mr. Deshmukh held up his hand to stop her, his voice grave. “Jeevika, tumhare maa ki maut ek accident thi. Lekin mujhe hamesha shak raha hai ki Kamini us accident ka hissa thi. Tumhare papa un dino mein kaafi pareshan the, aur unhone apne galtiyon ko kabhi tumhare saamne nahi aane diya.”
Jeevika felt as if the ground had been ripped out from under her. She had always suspected that something was wrong, but hearing it confirmed was devastating.
“Main kya karun, Uncle?” she asked, her voice trembling. “Yeh sab itna complicated hai. Main kaise sachai samne laaun?”
Mr. Deshmukh sighed deeply. “Beta, tumhe Kamini se bachke rehna padega. Woh kaafi chalaak hai. Tumhare papa ke baad unhone tumhare ghar pe apna control jamaya. Tumhe sabut chahiye hoga agar tum sachai sab ke saamne lana chahti ho.”
Jeevika nodded, her resolve hardening. She had to find proof. And if Kamini had played a role in her mother’s death, she would make sure justice was served.

That evening, back at home, Jeevika sat quietly on the balcony, her mind still processing everything she had learned. Abhiman noticed her silence and joined her, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder.
“Kya baat hai, jaan? Tum kal se kaafi pareshaan lag rahi ho,” he said softly.
Jeevika smiled faintly, turning to him. She couldn’t tell him everything yet—not until she had proof—but she couldn’t hide her turmoil from him either.
“Kuch nahi, bas thodi thakaan hai,” she said, leaning into his embrace.
Abhiman kissed her forehead and held her close. “Main tumhare liye kuch bhi karne ko tayaar hoon, tumhe pata hai na?”
Jeevika nodded, finding comfort in his words. She had a long road ahead of her, but with Abhiman by her side, she knew she could face whatever was coming.
As they sat there, wrapped in each other’s arms, Jeevika made a silent vow to herself. She would uncover the truth about Kamini, no matter what it took.
