Jeevika had made up her mind — she wasn’t going to let anyone, especially Abhiman, worry about her. The burden of revenge, the secrets about Kamini, and the mysteries surrounding her uncle's death had weighed heavily on her, but she had decided to keep it all to herself for now. She would deal with it on her own terms, without disturbing the peace of her new family. One morning, as Jeevika prepared breakfast, Abhiman’s parents made an announcement that caught everyone by surprise.
"Humne faisla kiya hai ke hum village jaa rahe hain," Abhiman’s father said as he sipped his tea. "Kuldevi ke aashirvad lene ke liye aur phir hamaare purkho ke ghar jaane ka mann hai. Waha hum ek hafte ke liye rukenge."
Abhiman’s mother chimed in, "Aur humari bua ke yaha bhi jaana hai. Uski beti ki shaadi hone waali hai."
Hearing this, Jeevika felt a wave of relief wash over her. She saw this as a perfect opportunity to take a break from the constant tension and the looming presence of Kamini. A week away from it all, in the company of her loving family, could give her the much-needed respite she craved.
"Yeh toh ekdum perfect timing hai," Jeevika thought to herself. "Kamini sochegi ke maine usse dar ke haath khade kar diye hain, aur usse tang karna bandh kar diya hai. Main is waqt ka faayda utha kar chupke se kuch nayi information bhi nikaal sakti hoon. Aur sabse achhi baat, main Abhiman ke saath thoda waqt bita paungi."
She smiled at the thought, already imagining the peace of the village, far from the drama and tension of the city. She would have time to reconnect with Abhiman, enjoy the quiet, and dig deeper into the secrets surrounding her uncle and mother’s deaths. It was the perfect cover.
"Main packing karwa deti hoon," Jeevika said cheerfully, masking her true intentions behind a warm smile.
Abhiman, unaware of the thoughts swirling in her mind, looked at her with a smile of his own. "Lagta hai tum bhi excited ho gaon jaane ke liye?"
Jeevika nodded, her resolve growing stronger. "Haan, thodi doori sab kuch theek kar deti hai."
And with that, Jeevika prepared for what would be both a break and an opportunity to continue her secret investigation — all while enjoying some much-needed time with Abhiman.
