The next day, Elion set out to finish Emily's grave. He wrote a note to Damon, so he wouldn't worry about his absence.

Elion looked up at the pouring sky. It was raining pretty bad today, but he told himself he'd finish this.

Elion got to work on shoveling a nice sized hole. He didn't have a body to bury, so he brought the things that he knew Emily liked.

He set them in the hole neatly. Then Elion looked up at the sky, gazing at the stars that started to show.

"I hope you're safe on the other side of this chaotic world. One day, we will cross paths again," Elion said, "Until then, you can finally rest well. Love you, Emily."

Elion stood up before grimacing in pain. As the pain increased, he cried out and dropped to his knees.

It felt like his brain was about to explode.

Soon the pain calmed as images rushed through his mind. He saw a young woman, who appeared to be a witch.

She's a descendant from Emily.

"Are you asking me to protect her," Elion asked.

Something inside of him confirmed this request.

"I will protect her with my life, Emily," Elion promised.

He sealed up the grave and knelt down next to the tombstone. He smiled as his fingers traced over the engraving he carved into the rock.

Then Elion packed up his things and headed back home for the night. Thankfully, the rain died down a lot.

Along the way, he heard someone shouting for help and went to investigate.

Elion found a young woman stuck in a small mudslide. He slid down to her, steadying himself with his fingers.

"Cover your face and hang on. I got you," Elion said, placing her on his back.

She grabbed him tightly while Elion began climbing back up the hill. He let her down and turned to face her.

"Are you okay," Elion asked, checking her over for injuries.

"My car is stuck," she said, looking at her car.

Elion turned around and walked over. He bent his knees and gave a small push, lifting it from the mud.

He turned back to the young woman, who stared at him in disbelief.
