WARNINGS: Canon Temporary Character Death
Elion watched his family from behind the veil. He stood next to his mother, watching her cry over him.
"It's okay, mom," Elion reassured, even though she couldn't hear him, "I'll be back before you know it. Please don't cry."
Elion heard a voice call out to him. He quickly left her to see who it was. Katherine sniffled and lifted her eyes.
"Elion," Katherine whispered, looking around for him.
Elion tracked down Jeremy's ghost. He stepped closer and placed his hand on his shoulders.
"Jeremy," Elion smiled, happy he got to see him again.
He hugged him tightly, feeling Jeremy cry into his shoulder.
"Man have I missed you," Jeremy said.
"I missed you too, kid... What the hell are you doing here," Elion hissed, realizing that Jeremy is dead, "Why are you dead?!"
"Long story. I got shot," Jeremy shrugged, "And Damon is going insane because of his werewolf bite."
Elion sighed deeply while rubbing his forehead.
"I leave for two days and everything goes to shit," Elion complained, resting his hands on his hips.
"Sounds about right. Tyler kissed me."
Elion opened and closed his mouth, trying to figure out how to respond to that.
"Uh, was it consensual," Elion asked.
"I mean, I guess. I didn't push him away," Jeremy said, scratching the back of his head.
"Oh. Congratulations," Elion smiled.
"How do you know that you're gay," Jeremy asked.
"Well, first off, I'm not gay. I'm actually pansexual. Second, I'm not sure. I mean, romantic attraction to the same sex is definitely a clue," Elion said.
"But I like women. I mean, I like Tyler, but I also like women," Jeremy chuckled.
"So you have attraction to both genders," Elion asked.
Jeremy averted his gaze, still confused about his sexuality.
"You can take your time figuring out what you like. Either way, I'll support you," Elion said.
Jeremy smiled at Elion.
"I'm gonna miss these talks," Jeremy said.
"Me too, kid," Elion said.
"I think Bonnie is trying to bring my soul back," Jeremy said, "Hey, E."
"Yeah?"
He pulled him into another hug, gently squeezing him. Elion held him as well.
"Thank you, Dad," Jeremy said.
Elion felt tears fall from his eyes.
"I'm sorry that you had to be strong at such a young age," Elion said, pulling back to see his face, "Don't forget to be a kid too. Okay?"
Jeremy nodded while blinking away more tears. Seeing Elion cry pushed Jeremy to tears.
"I'm so proud of you, Jeremy," Elion smiled, "Now go get your man."
Jeremy laughed while rolling his eyes. Elion smiled at him.
"Will I remember seeing you again," Jeremy asked, watching the room they were in light up.
"No, you won't. But it's okay," Elion said, a teardrop trickling down his cheek, "I love you, son."
Jeremy closed his eyes as the light surrounded the room, blinding his vision.
Jeremy woke up in the physical realm. His vision was blurry as it slowly returned to focus.
He looked around the room, noticing Bonnie holding his head.
"What happened," Jeremy asked.
"Doesn't matter," Bonnie whispered, "You're okay now."
"I think... I think I need to rest," Jeremy grunted, sitting up.
Elion stood in the same room that Jeremy disappeared from. He hung his head as tears streamed down his face.
When he finished sobbing, he picked himself up and went to find Emily.
The second part of his rebirth is complete.
In the Mystic Falls cemetery, a child woke up in his grave. He panted as fear overtook his emotions.
"Hello! Is anyone there?!"
The child pushed against the top of the coffin. He continued banging on it until it broke.
Then he crawled his way to the surface. He gasped for air, relief flooding him.
The boy sat up and went to another grave. He began unburying the coffin and opened it.
Inside, laid another child waking up from death.
"Look who's awake. Time to get to work."
The younger boy sat up in his coffin, cracking his neck.
"Good. We have a whole lot to do before Dad wakes up," the younger boy said.
