The day after, Elion went to check on Tyler. Carol let him inside as per usual.

"Y'know, I just want to thank you for taking Tyler under your wing," Carol said, "I can tell it means a lot to him."

"Of course. He's a good kid when he wants to be," Elion smiled.

"If you'd like, you're free to stay overnight. I can make dinner or something," Carol offered.

"I'll consider the offer. Thank you, Mrs. Lockwood," Elion said.

"Please, call me Carol."

Elion instantly felt uncomfortable with the conversation.

"I'm just gonna wait for Tyler," Elion chuckled awkwardly.

Carol left him alone. Once he showed up, Tyler went up to him.

"How do you feel," Elion asked.

"Sore like you said," Tyler said, chuckling.

"I have a surprise for you," Elion said.

"What is it?"

Elion pulled out his cellphone and called Mason's number. He put it on speaker.

"Hello?"

Tyler's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree.

"Mason," Tyler whispered.

"Tyler? I heard about how you did last night with the full moon," Mason said.

"Yeah... Yeah, Elion helped a lot," Tyler said, his breath shaking.

"He said it was mostly you. Listen, I know your birthday is coming up here," Mason said, "So Elion and I convinced your mom to let you come down to visit for the weekend."

"Really? I'd like that," Tyler grinned.

"Great. Oh and keep sending me messages of your progress. That way, I'm not worried about you," Mason said, "I'll try to return your calls the best I can."

"You got it," Tyler agreed.

"Keep up the good work, Ty. I know it's hard and it hurts, but I promise you got this," Mason said.

"I miss you, Uncle Mason," Tyler said.

"I miss you too, Tyler," Mason said, "I need to go. I have some business to handle."

"Okay."

Mason hung up the call. Tyler turned to Elion.
