Elijah waited in the spot that Damon asked him to meet. Before meeting, he had gotten his hair trimmed down and a new suit.

Soon enough, Damon walked up with Elion beside him. Elijah's hardened gaze quickly softened for his son.

"Elion," Elijah said.

Elion cautiously went up to him.

"You were dead," Elijah said.

"I was. It's a long story," Elion said, "Listen, Dad, I'm sorry for not telling you..."

Elijah pulled Elion into a hug before he could finish. Elion hugged him back, his head resting against Elijah's shoulder.

"I'm glad you're safe," Elijah said, letting him go.

"It's okay. I'm fine," Elion smiled, "Nice haircut by the way."

"Thank you," Elijah smirked, "I can see you started growing a small beard."

"A little," Elion chuckled.

Damon cleared his empty throat, refocusing the conversation to other important matters. Elijah held up the note that was left by Damon.

"You left something in my jacket pocket," Elijah said.

"Dear Elijah, let's get together and plot the destruction of your brother. XOXO," Damon smirked.

Elijah gave such a subtle glare that Damon almost missed it.

"Damon," Elijah started.

"Was I right to undagger you, or are we gonna have a problem," Damon asked, "Because if it's the latter, it might cause some issues between you and Elion."

Elijah's eyes darted over to his son. Elion was silent while standing next to Damon.

Something about him seemed different though. Elijah couldn't put his finger on it. But it made him somewhat uneasy, even if he didn't show it.

Elijah gave a small shrug and smirked.

"I'm here. So let's talk," Elijah said.

"I'll start with an easy question then," Damon said, "What's in the magically sealed mystery coffin?"

Elion tuned out rest of the conversation. He caught enough info to keep up with the plan. Apparently, Elijah and Damon agreed on a small dinner party.

"Only if Elion can join us as a positive influence," Damon said, "Not for nothing, but the last time I trusted an original, I was betrayed."

Elijah recalled him taking off with Klaus before being daggered. He couldn't exactly be upset with Damon's request.

Besides, it'll give Elion a chance to connect with his family a little more.

"Fine," Elijah said, "Wear something presentable."

He glanced at Elion in a mix of curiosity and concern before walking away. The feeling he's receiving from Elion just won't leave him.

What does he notice that his mind can't yet process?

"Why was he looking at you like that," Damon asked, leading Elion back to his car.

"You don't want to know," Elion muttered.

"But I do. That's the whole reason I asked."

Elion fell silent until they were on the road.

"While I was gone, I retrained myself with my mom's help," Elion said, "In that training, I had to eat."

"So what? He can smell the vampire on your teeth," Damon chuckled.

"I recently ate a werewolf's lung."

Damon quickly went silent.

"Well that explains a lot."

They arrived back at the Salvatore house and got changed. Elion received a call from Katherine, asking for his whereabouts.

"Back in Mystic Falls," Elion reported, "I left you a note."

"Yeah I got the note, the question is why? It's dangerous out there with Klaus running around," Katherine said.

"I'm fine, mom. Honest," Elion reassured.

"What if you're not? I don't want to bury you again, Elion. Klaus is dangerous..."

"Mother, trust me, I'm okay. If I felt my life was in danger, I'd have stayed with you," Elion said.

The line went quiet for a moment.

"Just be careful, okay? I can't lose my little miracle again," Katherine said, her voice softer than before.

Elion smiled at the familiar nickname.

"Yes, ma'am," Elion said before ending the call.

Damon walked into the room to adjust Elion's clothing. As he did, Damon realized how truly similar Elion looked compared to his parents, especially Elijah.

"Something wrong," Elion asked, noticing his blank stare.

"I never realized how much you look like your father," Damon muttered.

"Not a bad thing, I hope," Elion said softly.

"Believe me, it's not. He's actually kinda hot," Damon teased.

"Damon," Elion scolded, making him laugh while leaving the bedroom.

Damon went to drag Stefan with them to this dinner.
