Alexis spent her first four years at Hogwarts living in her brother, Harry's shadow. She did her best to never draw too much attention to herself. Her father and Dumbledore had made it very clear that if anyone found out who she really was it could be dangerous for her. But things were about to change, for the first time she was going to come out of the shadows and it was all because of the Yule Ball.

George Weasley came up to her one day after class full of his usual confidence, "Alexis, I think we should go to the ball together." Alexis stared shocked at the fact that anyone would ask her, let alone George, "I would love to go with you." She blushed brightly before running off to find Hermione.

Alexis and Hermione went shopping in Hogsmeade and found her a beautiful emerald green dress made of satin that would make her stand out in any crowd. "You look perfect Lex, George is gonna lose his mind seeing you in that dress," Hermione winked at Alexis as they made their way back to the castle.

"Well if it isn't Granger and Black, what do we have here?" Draco snatched the dress bag out of Alexis's arms.

"Give it back Draco, that dress is expensive," Alexis tried to snatch the dress back but Draco was at least a foot taller than her and easily kept it out of her reach.

"Dress huh?" Draco said opening up the bag, "Trying to embrace being a Slytherin finally? What did one of the older guys ask you or something," Draco asked a tinge of jealousy coloring his tone.

Alexis didn't notice since she was too focused on grabbing her dress back, "No, George Weasley asked me. Green just looks good on me." The girls tried to walk away but Draco wasn't having it as he jogged to catch up with her.

"A Weasley!? Are you joking? A Weasley isn't good enough for you," Draco sputtered out as he grabbed her arm pulling her around to face him. "You're a Black, that name comes with an expectation, and a Weasley is not up to that standard."

"Are you trying to tell me who I can date Draco? What makes you believe you have the right to tell me what I can or can't do? Now let go of me," She wrenched her arm free of him and stormed off leaving Draco standing there staring after her.

The night of the ball she took extra time getting ready making sure she looked perfect.  As she came down the stairs from her dorm you could've heard a pin drop. Every eye in the room turned to look at her as her train flowed out behind her. Her long black hair, usually up in a ponytail, fell well below her hips like an ebony curtain and her dress made her eyes more vibrant than ever. Alexis was a memorizing sight and everyone noticed her.

Draco stared at her in wonder, thinking how life was completely unfair. The most stunning girl in school and she had to be his cousin. She walked past the group of boys in her year, her eyes met Draco's for a split second as she headed out to meet George.

She didn't notice the eyes of Mattheo or Draco as they stayed glued to her for the whole evening. Draco's steel blue eyes stormed with jealousy as he watched her glide around the room with George. He was seething that she was always surrounded by Gryffindors. She was a Slytherin and she should be with them not that ridiculous prank-pulling Weasley.

She left the ball that night unaware that she was being followed. Mattheo silently trailed behind her to the common room. He slid up next to her as they stopped at the door for entry, "Hello princess, did you enjoy your night?"

"Riddle," she exclaimed jumping a bit in surprise at his sudden appearance. "Yes, I did actually. Where are your friends? I don't believe I've ever seen you without your trusty sidekicks by your side."

"I was bored and left them to their merriment." he told her nonchalantly "I wanted to get a chance to talk to you without anyone else interrupting especially your pain of a cousin."

Alexis smirked at his dig at Draco, "You've never bothered with me before Mattheo so why so interested now?" She turned to face him defiantly, hands on her hips as she reached the stairs to the girls' dormitory. She couldn't help feeling suspicious knowing who his father was.

"Well, have you seen yourself? I don't think there is anyone who didn't notice you tonight." He looked her head to toe before winking suggestively.

She rolled her eyes at him thinking to herself, of course, looks are all boys like him care about. She turned walking up the stairs without so much as a glance. Mattheo was forced to watch as she drifted up and out of view, not that he minded the view. He smiled and shook his head as he headed to his room thoughts consumed by Alexis Black in her green gown.

The rest of the year she made a point to ignore Mattheo no matter how hard he tried to get her attention. With the final challenge quickly approaching her focus was either on classes or her budding relationship with George Weasley.

No matter what she did though Draco seemed to be everywhere she turned, being oddly friendly half the time and completely cruel the next. She couldn't understand his odd mood swings no matter how hard she tried.

The day of the final challenge finally came and she stood in the stands with Ron and Hermione and cheered her brother as he disappeared into the maze. The wait was horrible as Alexis' friends tried to talk to her but missed most of what they said. She felt her twin's pain radiating out like a wave that almost toppled her.

Draco stood nearby his eyes never leaving her as she seemed terrified for Potter. He'd never seen any indication they were dating but her concern for him made him wonder what was really going on between them. He was obsessed and he couldn't for the life of him understand why.

Harry was terrified and he was overwhelmed by a grief she couldn't understand. Her head was throbbing with an overload of emotions. Finally, her brother dropped into existence along with Cedric in the center of the clearing. She didn't hesitate to run to him, she knew something was terribly wrong. By the time she reached the bottom of the stairs, Fleur's scream rang through the air.

She watched Professor Moody pull Harry away and for reasons she couldn't explain she knew something was very wrong. She quickly retrieved Dumbledore and they rushed after Harry. They managed to reach Harry just in time before the man pretending to be Professor Moody could hurt Harry anymore.

The last weeks of school flew by as she felt her brother's agony at every moment. Even sleep held no respite for her as his nightmares bled through into her mind. Draco watched her from a distance noticing the dark circles under her eyes. She seemed more stressed than she should have been for not having any relationship with Digory. He started to worry about the toll whatever she was going through was taking on her.

School finally ended and she said goodbye to Harry at the station holding tight to one another. "It's all going to be alright Harry, you're going to be okay." She turned to give him one last look of reassurance as she and Sirius walked away but instead locked eyes with Draco.

His blue eyes were angry and storming in a way she didn't understand. She turned away as Sirius pulled her close and buried her head into his chest as she left Hogwarts behind for the summer. If she had looked for a moment longer she might have seen that those same steel-blue eyes didn't stop watching her as she left the platform.
