Chapter 7

As the last of the students who attended the meeting at the Hogs Head entered the room, Dean said, "That's everyone right? Can we get started?" Harry, Ron, and Hermione looked at each other.

"Not quite we are waiting on four more..." Harry told them. And right on time, the four Slytherins entered the room. A chorus of complaints rose and people started to leave.

"Now hold up, let us explain," Hermione told them. But Alexis held up her hand. "No, let us explain," She walked forward showing her still mangled hand. "I know you don't trust Slytherins but we hate Umbridge just as much as you guys," Mattheo mumbled, "probably more."

"We aren't here to start trouble, we're here for the same reason as you." Someone shouted, "Yeah, and what about you know who's son?"

Mattheo stepped up next to Alexis, "Umbridge tortured my girl, and before you ask I hate my father. He killed my mother because she didn't agree with what he was doing. Am I perfect? No, am I nice? Not normally. But I am not my father."

"That's a nice speech but how do we know ya mean it?" Seamus asked.

"Well, I haven't kicked your ass yet, and do you see Umbridge right behind me? So maybe give us a chance. Not every Slytherin is a horrible human being," Mattheo told him raising an eyebrow.

Some grumbling followed but everyone agreed and the first meeting started. They officially declared Harry their leader, per Hermione's request, and named their group Dumbledore's Army. They began with a simple spell, Expelliarmus, splitting into teams of two and practicing. Since no one else would team up with them anyway, Alexis and Mattheo formed a pair and so did Theo and Enzo.

Alexis already knew and had used the spell before and grinned at Mattheo every time his wand flew from his hand. It took Mattheo a few tries and a pointer from Harry but he got it in the end. Theo and Enzo both struggled but also managed it at least once. Slowly the students filtered out in small groups to avoid too much notice. The Slytherin group was one of the last to leave but before they did Lex gave Harry a hug and her thanks for trusting them before disappearing out the door.

As they made their way down the staircases they ran into Draco, "And where have you four been, It's almost curfew."

The four lifted their book bags, "just studying Draco, our O.W.L.s are the most important thing right now," Mattheo said with a smile. "But as you said, it's almost curfew and we need to get to our common room."

He moved aside letting them go on their way.  But before they made it more than a few steps Draco called out to them, "Actually I'm going to need to talk to Alexis for a moment." Alexis turned back slowly, "Why just me?" Draco was growing impatient, "Please Alexis, just you."

Alexis sent the boys on ahead before turning back to Draco. "What is it Draco?" He looked around before pulling her into a dark corner nearby, "Look I'm sorry about the other day. I was angry about something and I took it out on you but there is something you need to know. The Dark Lord heard about your relationship with Mattheo and has taken a keen interest in it. You need to be careful. I never hated you Alexis I wanted to be friends from the beginning you were always the one pushing me away. I'm telling you that you need to be careful. I know you love him which I think is stupid but the Dark Lord is not going to stop until his son is by his side. He won't care if he has to hurt you to have that. I don't want you hurt. I honestly care about you so just be careful, please."

Alexis was shocked by the almost frantic tone in Draco's voice. She didn't know why but she believed him. "Okay, I'll be careful. Draco, I'm sorry for not giving you a chance before. I can't promise not to still be an ass from time to time but thank you, for the warning." As she started walking away she turned back, "By the way I am sorry about your nose," Then she ran to catch up with Mattheo and the others but kept the reason for the talk to herself.
