Adventures in the country of sand

"...Luffy I should kill you!" Anna yelled entering the kitchen with a bubble of water above her "Anna bunny what's wrong?~" Sanji asked twirling happily "with the way the climate is in the grad line my grapes have been growing beautifully and fast. I made a beautiful vineyard filled with my favorite types of grapes, there was cotton candy, moon drop, red globe, thomcord, Kyoho, crimson seedless. I even added some wine grapes in hopes that Sanji would make some wine for me, I planned to harvest them after the Alabasta incident was over come to find out a whole town is gone! Right luffy!" Anna yelled turning to luffy as he sweat dripped trying to hide behind the rice ball snowman he made.

"I don't know what you're talking about" he said avoiding her gaze "oh really? Oh luffy there's something on your teeth" she smiled pointing at his teeth "oh no the grape skin!" Luffy said licking his teeth before Anna submerged him in the bubble "this is what my life has turned to" she said face palming watching luffy struggle in the water stopping when Nami informed them of their ship temporarily stopping.

"We're finally here, does anyone know how hot it's supposed to get?" Chopper asked "over a hundred degrees in the daytime" Nami said shocking Chopper "I know for sure I'm gonna die" Anna said leaving her room with a leash and an umbrella "ah Nami, Anna what happened where's your dancer outfit? You too! Vivi why are you wearing that?" Sanji asked disappointed and in disbelief "because any exposed skin will get sunburned, we have to cover up in the desert" Vivi explained handing Luffy some clothes "what are those?" Zoro asked preparing to drop anchor before noticing some turtles in the water "no they look like seals" Luffy said.

"Kung-fu Dugong" Vivi said alarmed "do dung?" Anna asked tilting her head confused "Dugong" Ace corrected "if you want to come ashore you have to beat me first but I doubt that'll happen you bunch of cowards' he says" Chopper said turning to Nami "hah, nobody calls me a coward and gets away with it, here comes the pain!" Usopp said jumping off the ship to the animal before it beat him "why was he acting all snobby just to get beat up!" Anna yelled "see they're not that tough" Luffy said after hitting their leader "that's one of their rules, if they lose a fight the winner becomes master" Vivi explained watching Luffy train the animals.

"What's this? Are we in Yuba already?" Sanji and luffy asked stopping in front of a destroyed city "no, this is Erumalu it was known far and wide as the city of green" Vivi said staring at the city "take a good look around everyone, this is what baroque works has been doing to my country, the people of alabasta this is what they had to go through" she said turning to the team as they walked through the city.

Later

"I'm burning up I don't think I can even sweat anymore" Luffy whined "will you please spare us the melodramatics luffy you're only going to wear yourself out" Nami said "can't go on, can't take hot weather" Chopper said as Zoro pulled him across the desert sand "it's because of that fur why don't you take off that stupid reindeer costume" Usopp said as chopper grew in size angry "chopper don't turn yourself big or I'm gonna quit pulling you. Turn small will you!" Zoro said pushing chopper down causing him to turn smaller "how come you can pull him and not me?" Anna asked walking beside Zoro angry "cause he's lighter" he said "so you're calling me fat?" Anna asked glaring at him "anyhow you chose to hear it" Zoro said walking off "imma kill him" she said biting her lower lip.

"So hot, water" Luffy said taking out the water "just one drink luffy, just one mouthful" Nami said as Luffy took a large mouthful of water "don't drink so much!" She yelled hitting him before Luffy, Usopp and sanji started fighting over who will drink water next. "I love the night" Anna said lying under the night sky as the other crew cooked "how so?" Nami asked "it's so cool!" She laughed as water formed above her "water!" Luffy and Usopp said dancing around her "where's the water barrel this is for drinking" Anna said as Vivi opened the barrel and she dumped the water in.

Next morning

"Now I see why daddy never let me visit Alabasta" Anna said as Zoro got off her after the sand storm "hey sanji, let's have one of those boxed lunches" Luffy asked "we eat when Vivi tells us to" Sanji said as Luffy turned to Vivi "we're not even a tenth of the way to Yuba luffy and we have to make our supplies last the whole way" Vivi said "don't be silly Vivi haven't you heard the old proverb, make sure to eat whenever you're hungry" luffy said "how can he eat the way does?" anna said as Vivi told him when next they could eat "alright rocks it is, okay guys whoever wins in a round of rock paper scissors has to carry everybody stuff" luffy said excitedly "he's got it backwards" Anna said "alright, rock paper scissors! I win!" Luffy laughed "idiot" Nami said.

"Chopper! There's a whole flock of injured birds! We need a doctor!" Luffy said running back to the team after he ran off "what birds? Wait a minute luffy those birds might not be what you think they are!" Vivi said causing luffy to stop in his tracks. "All of our stuff is gone" Zoro said "we've been had" Nami added "and by birds...luffy" Anna said turning to luffy "but I saw them, there was a flock of dying birds lying right there!" Luffy said pointing at the area as Anna pinched his cheek "so sorry, I should have mentioned this earlier warusagi birds are desert bandits that deceive travelers and steal their belongings" Vivi said "you mean these birds play dead? What a lousy bunch of crooks!" Usopp said "Vivi look into that beautiful brain of yours and tell us more about this desert we need to know, after this point if I hear 'so sorry I should have mentioned' you will get slapped" Anna said pulling Vivi cheeks "Okay, I'm sowwy" Vivi said as Sanji and Luffy started fighting.

"What's that?" Chopper asked as the ground shook "what on earth is that rumbling?" Usopp asked peering through his glasses "it's luffy!" He said "can someone tell me what's chasing after him" sanji asked "i can't tell but it looks like there's something burrowing behind him" Zoro said as the creature revealed itself "it's a sandora dragon, they're the biggest reptile that lives in the desert, they wait under the sand for their prey and ambush them" Vivi said explaining the dragon "I gotta admit that boy sure has a talent for attracting trouble" Ace said "yes and all of us has the scars to prove it" Sanji said "what kind of crap Star was he born under to attract trouble like that?" Zoro said growing his sword ready to attack.

"They didn't have to go that far" Usopp said in disbelief as the three guys defeated the dragon "whenever those two fight it almost makes me feel bad for the monsters" Nami said "another one?" Usopp said staring at the monster behind them "I'm sorry I guess I forgot to say that sandora dragons always hunt in pairs" Vivi said before Anna pinched her cheek "get with it" Nami, Usopp and chopper said. "So now that we have a moment, what's the deal with the camel?" Zoro asked as Zoro cooked the dragon "I don't know, it was getting eaten by those mystery plants while I was chasing those wild birds" Luffy said in between bites.

"It's obviously not a wild camel" Nami said as chopper talked to the camel "yea it is you. He gave me a ride when I escaped from capture" Chopper said "he's a passenger camel? That sure makes things a lot easier" usopp said "that sure will come in handy, he looks like he can carry two" Sanji said "great I'll take the first shift" Luffy said trying to get on the camel "I can carry three, I'm very grateful to you for helping me out of the jam back there and I'll be glad to give some of you a ride but I'm afraid I don't accept male passengers" Chopper translated before Luffy, Usopp and sanji beat the camel "I'm too macho" the camel said as the guys hit it again "I'm so sorry that my crew mates are such ill bred louts, now what should we call you precious?" Nami asked petting the camel "idiot, Moron, dufus" the guys all suggested.

"Eyelash it is" Nami said as Anna got on the camel "okay climb on vivi" Nami said as vivi got on the camel "this is great, we should be able to make better time now we we need to get to Yuba as fast as we can so we'll be able to talk to the rebel army" Nami said "and save Alabasta, come on guys let's go" Anna said opening her umbrella "hurry up guys! If we get separated you'll never leave the desert alive!" Nami yelled as the camel left.
