Upon arrival, I was ambushed with hugs and apparently yelling and it was just a mess. A sudden rumble could be felt in the ground as everyone backed away, but I turned and saw Jasper, well maybe not Jasper but still, I walked towards him and placed my hand on his chest. He calmed down and wrapped an arm around me as walked inside and into the living room. I collapsed onto the couch as I saw Jasper smile. He laid down next to me as I put my head in his lap. I gazed into his eyes, suddenly getting lost. I began to think, " I don't think I can live in a world without him. Sounds stupid but he has brought me so much joy and happiness. Without Jasper, I'm just the sad deaf girl sitting in the back of the room, with her head down blocking out the world. But with him, I'm flying. I'm at peace, happy, it's like I'm the lucky peasant girl that the prince chose. Like Cinderella.". Jasper broke eye contact to look up and see Edward. "Her thoughts are quite loud." he signed slowly. Edward looked at me and I think he finally understood. I smiled sweetly then started to trace the crescent-shaped scars on his arm. Jasper turned and gazed at me, lovingly.

This continued on for what felt like hours but was only mere minutes. Eventually, Emmett came bounding into the room demanding I play a game with him, claiming he would beat my ass in COD. I giggled and signed back, "You're on." I said getting up quickly and catching the game console he tossed me. The family began to gather. Jasper smirked, "My money's on Emmie." he signed, "Me too!" signed Alice and Rose. Esme just shook her head and walked back into the kitchen. Edward sat down beside Jasper, "No way Emmie will beat him. Emmett has been playing for 7 years on Xbox. He will definitely beat her." he signed. I just scoffed and rolled my eyes playfully, "Ye have little faith." I signed back as the game began. Two hours in it was 9-2, the 9 winning games being mine. Emmett had a permanent scowl on his face seeing as this was the tiebreaker game. The first one to win 10 games wins. I leaned in a bit my lip gently as I aimed from behind a torn down building at Emmett, he was too busy looking the other direction when I went in for the headshot, I didn't miss. I jumped up and began dancing around as Jasper twirled me and Rose and Alice jumped in as well, leaving a gobsmacked Edward and Emmett. I giggled as I blew a kiss at them jokingly. "Sorry boys." I signed. Edward looked at me, his eyes still wide in disbelief, "How?" he questioned. I shrugged, "When you're homeschooled for a good part of your life you turn to games to give you some form of entertainment." I signed back.

As I began to walk away Emmett jumped up, "No rematch." he demanded and really looked pissed. I shook my head no. He charged at me, but Jasper stepped in front of me and collided with him. It felt like an earthquake had happened as I grabbed onto Rose for support, "Remind me never to stand in between any of you guys." I signed as she laughed. Esme rounded the corner and from reading her lips she was shouting at the boys who were laughing as they continued to wrestle. That's when I realized, I'm human, I'll never be able to keep up with them or live as long. If I get sick, there is the possibility that I could, you know, die. My mood suddenly shifted and Jasper whipped around to look at me. Edward became concerned as did Rose and Alice. I shook my head as tears threatened to spill and walked outside to the back porch. It was drizzling as I looked out into the forest.

I sighed as I felt the tapping of shoes get closer, "Go away, Jasper. I just need a moment." I signed. Edward came into my vision, "I am most definitely not Jasper." he signed back. I chuckled but a sob came out instead. "You know if it's too hard to sign you can always think to me, you know since I can read thoughts." he signed. I nodded as sobs began to rack my body, "One day he'll leave. One day I'll be six feet under and he will move on." I thought. Edward shook his head, "He wouldn't move on. He would probably go to the Voultir and demand they kill him." he signed. My body began to shake, "He knows I wouldn't want him to do that." I thought. Edward seemed to chuckle, "He didn't tell you did he?" he questioned. I shook my head as I wiped my tears with the back of my hand. Edward sighed, "Emerson, he contemplated turning you when you got worse and we thought you wouldn't wake up. Jasper, he-he won't let you die but he will give you the choice too. I've never seen him this happy. In the 58 years that I've known him, he's never loved someone as much as he loves you." he signed. Sobs, again racked my body as Edward pulled me in for a brotherly embrace.

Jasper soon came out, quietly thanking him. We walked towards the car, it was dark out and my parents most likely wanted me home sooner than later. I got into the car and looked down at my hands, Jasper started the car. I quickly grabbed his arm, "How come you never told me?" I questioned, remembering what Edward had said earlier. He looked confused and I sighed, "That you might have decided to turn me if I hadn't woken up." I signed. Jasper looked shocked that I knew, but recovered quickly, "I was going to but then today happened and-." he continued to sign too fast for me to understand so I leaned over and kissed him. Jasper melted into the kiss as he cupped my cheeks, pulling me closer. My hands tangled into his hair as I tried to pull him closer. Instantly I was on his lap, I gasped but he swiftly captured my lips with his again. His mouth slowly made its way down my neck as I trembled slightly. His canines nipping at the curve of my neck, a whimper escaped my mouth as I pulled him closer to me. Jasper pulled away as I gasped for air. He placed his forehead on my chest as I breathed heavily, his hand cupping my breast, but only to feel my heartbeat. He stayed there for a bit while I got my breathing under control. Jasper looked up at me, "Don't rush into immortality. I like hearing your heartbeat." he signed. I laughed as I shook my head and bent down to give him a gentle kiss as to say, ok.
