Friday, back to school, Jasper picked me up this morning and brought me my hot chocolate. Jasper and I separated when the bell flashed and Bella and I made our way to the gym. We were watching Jessica pop the volleyball in the air, doing practice serves. Angela takes a picture of her, then points her camera towards Bella and I. This causes Bella to hide behind me as I laugh. Eric is studying some of the fliers Jess and I had put up, advertising for prom. Jessica didn't like the idea all that much. Alice had continued to hound me until I got a dress that I had tried on the other night with Bella and the girls she said it was "made for me", creepy-ass future teller. Bella looked intently at Jessica and Eric who were having a conversation. Bella shook her head, "I don't think Jess likes the Monte Carlo." she signed to me. I just shook my head as Bella and I got up and headed towards our next class, which sadly was with Mike Newton.
Bella and I hurried towards the entrance, trying to keep our smiles in check but to minimal success. Outside the door, we passed Mike, having out with several of his basketball teammates. Mike came inside behind us as he began to talk to Bella, looking a bit depressed. Bella brushed past him and sat next to me. Mike looked down sadly and I pouted, "No one deserves to be sad." I thought to myself. Paying attention in calculus was hard, my mind was wandering on who killed Waylon, but it was more like what. " If someone was on foot, with no shoes it means they can stand the cold." I thought. My mind began racing, things slowly pieced together. "Vampire." I thought. I tapped Bella's arm but she waved me off. I continued to hit her arm until her head snapped in my direction. "I know what happened to Waylon!" I signed as she looked at me worried. "What?" she questioned, "A vampire. There has to be another one here in Forks. I mean there is no other explanation. No blood in the body, bare footprints, no shoes. It has to be, but they can't be alone. Most vampires like company." I signed quickly. Bella nodded, "I wonder if the boys know anything about this." she questioned. I shook my head, "It's better if we keep it to ourselves. If we let them in on what we know there is no telling what they would do." I responded. Bella nodded again, "Yeah, probably send us halfway around the world to keep us safe." she signed and I agreed.
Bella and I later headed home to her house, seeing as I was meant to spend the night here after hanging out with Jasper and his family. As we walked in we saw Charlie cleaning his rifle. My eyes widened, ¨Better be careful he is on the prowl.¨ I signed as she shook her head and we headed upstairs. I jumped onto her bed and pulled out my phone as she sat at her desk and pulled out some homework. I was scrolling through my Tumblr feed when a paper ball decided to collide with my face. I glared at Bella as she turned around acting as if nothing had happened. So I did what I thought was right, I chucked a pillow at her. Bella glared at me, ¨You know it is not fair that you don't have to do the homework that I have to do.¨ she signed. I laughed, ¨Perks of being homeschooled for so long, you get ahead.¨ I replied as Charlie walked in and talked to Bella. ¨Did Jasper tell you anything about going to play baseball?¨ she questioned. I shook my head, "No, but I do know one thing. I do not play sports." I signed as she laughed, nodding in agreement Bella stood up as I followed her and sure enough there were Cam and Jasper, standing tall in their uniforms. I giggled as I rushed past Bella and into Jasper's arms. He picked me up and spun me around before setting me down and holding up a uniform for me. I smiled as I looked on the back and it said Hale on it. I giggled as I threw it over my long black sleeve t-shirt. "I love it." I signed as he smiled, "And I love you" I signed as I gave him a peck on the cheek. I turned around and saw Bella had one on as well. She looked at me and smiled brightly as I gave her a thumbs up.
Now here we stand on the top of a "mountain" watching the Cullens prepare to play. Storm clouds began to gather in the sky as I pulled Jasper's coat tighter. Emmett and Rose pulled up in Emmett's jeep. "Jesus, I think he loves that thing more than the Rose." I thought as I looked back out to the field and saw Edward shaking his head, I stuck my tongue out at him. Jasper wrapped his arms around me from behind, "Play nice." he signed into my hand as I pouted and huffed. I felt him chuckle as he moved out to the field. Bella and I walked towards Esme who was the catcher, "Good thing you girls are here. We need umpires." she signed. Emmett had a big crooked grin on his face, "She thinks we cheat." he signed, rolling his eyes and laughing. "I know you cheat. Call 'em as you see 'em girls." she signed as she put on her mitt. Alice smirked as she turned around and nodded towards Esme, it's time. Bella and I stayed by Esme as Alice pitched at a lightning-fast speed. Cam and Jasper took their positions in the outfield. Rose up first to bat smashed the ball with the bat as Bella flinched, "Sounded like thunder," she signed as I smiled, "Luckily I'm deaf." I replied as we laughed. The ball shoots like a meteor deep into the forest, rocketing through the trees, Cam disappears after it, "That has to be a home run." I signed to Esme, my mouth wide open. Esme shook her head, "Cam is very fast." she signed. Rose darted around the bases, almost a blur-Cam raced out of the forest with the ball and wiped it to the home plate. Esme catches it milliseconds before Rose slides in, "Out." I signed and Esme nodded.
Dr. Cullen was up next as he hit a line drive. Cam and Jasper race for the catch, diving 15 feet and colliding with such might I felt the ground with a shake. They missed the ball and Dr. Cullen is safe. Edward up next, he whacked the next pitch deep into the forest, but before Jasper could chase after it Alice turned around, a panicked look in her eye as she yelled something. They all stopped and Jasper was immediately at my side. The Cullen's instantly gathered around home plate. They exchanged panicked conversation causing panic to rise in me as I tugged on Bella's arm asking what was happening. "The vampires that attacked Waylon were leaving until they heard us playing and now are headed this way." she signed as Cam whispered something into her ear, "Put your hair down and your cap on." she signed as I nodded. Jasper pulled me close as we the family gathered in front of Bella and I. Everyone looked towards the forest as three figures emerged. As they came closer I noticed their bare feet, then the deep burgundy of their eyes, human blood. My body tensed and shivered as Jasper held me closer feeling my panic rising within. The one with dreads held up a ball speaking to Carlisle who he then tossed the ball at, blindingly fast. He caught it with ease and smiled politely at him. Edward looked at me, "Act like you can hear, try to keep up with the conversation nod when I nod." he signed to me, I nodded slightly. Carlisle and the one who tossed the ball continued to talk as the one with messy blonde hair looked at me, "Act protective like a mate, growl." Edward thought and I did just that, trying to blend in. Jasper blocked me from his view Bella walking back towards me grabbing my hand.
