The next morning I woke up to the sun shining in through my window. Meaning Jasper nor any of the Cullens ould be at school today. I sighed and got out of bed, going through my routine and placed Kida in his kennel and left for the day. Bella picked me up, we always alternate between who picks the other one up on the rare sunny days we get here. Classes were boring, seeing as I'm way ahead, but lunch rolled around and I have to admit the sun was pretty nice. Jessica was tanning, Bella and Angela were talking and I was laying in the grass reading a book. Bella tapped me on the shoulder, "Do you want to go into Port Angeles tonight with the girls? They are going dress shopping for prom." she signed. My eyes widened, oh my god I had totally forgotten about prom. Alice was going to have my head if I didn't get a dress tonight or soon at least. I nodded to Bella as she walked back over to Jess and Ang.

As the school day came to an end Bella and I got into her truck and followed the girls to the boutique. I was antsy and distracted as Jessica and Angela tried on dresses. Bella pulled out a book and read, sitting on the wooden bench right outside the dressing room. Jessica flounced out of the dressing room, posing quite provocatively. She talked to Bella as I stood in a beautiful off white dress. As I looked up at Bella for approval on my dress my eyes connected with someone I never thought I'd see again. My eyes widened, my complexion pained, and Bella's eyes followed mine and widened. He was in a group of rowdy frat boys, two of them stared at Jessica in her low-cut dress as she blushed embarrassed she turned back to Bella. Our eyes still connected as he rounded the corner out of my view. Tears jolted their way to my eyes as my legs betrayed my body and I fell with a thud on the floor. Bella and the girls rushed to my aid as my breathing worsened. Bella gently grabbed my face and looked me in the eyes as I matched my breathing with hers. "Was that Adrian?" she questioned and I nodded. Adrian has bullied me since I can remember but he graduated last year, that's one of the only reasons my parents let me join Forks High was because he was gone. Without one of my old friends, Stephen, Adrian would've taken advantage of me one night at a party I wasn't supposed to be at.

I looked back at Bella who was on the phone, most likely with Jasper or my parents. Bella hung up as she looked back at me, "How about you go change and we will go to the book store and get you a new book?" she signed. I nodded as Ang helped me up and into the changing room. After changing Bella and I agreed to meet up with Jess and Ang later at the restaurant. When we walked into the book store my nerves calmed, my phone vibrated in my pocket. It was Jasper telling me, he and Cam were on the way to get us and that Bella's truck was already back at home. I showed the text to Bella as I wandered the store. My fingertips brushed the spine of old and new books. The smell of musk invaded my nose. I smiled as I found an old copy of, "Tale of Mice & Men". After paying Bella and I exited the store, as I thumbed through the book I'd just bought. Bella and I headed down the sidewalk but Bella turned back. I followed her eyes but saw no one. I shrugged and kept up with Bella as she speeds up her pace and changed course by cutting across a parking lot. Isolated, my breathing is short, scared. Bella whipped around and looked behind me, she grabbed my arm and shoved me behind her. Two men emerged from the shadows, they weren't vampires, but the boys that were with Adrian.

Bella began talking with the boys as I pulled out my phone, but it was knocked out of my hand by him. My eyes shot up to Adrian as he studied my face in a fascinated way. I tugged my wrist out of his hand and backed up into Bella. She took a defensive stance in front of me and wrapped the straps of her purse around her wrist to use as a weapon. The men looked like they were laughing. I gripped onto Bella's shirt, closing my eyes tightly, praying it would end. Headlights invaded my closed eyes. I opened them, only to be blinded. Jasper and Cam stepped out of the car, Adrian turned around and looked at Jasper. He smirked at him before suddenly grabbing my forearm and forcing me into his embrace. Bella had hit one of the other frat boys as she ran into Cam's arms. I whimpered as I closed my eyes again, beginning to cry. I just wanted Jasper. They were talking, no yelling, because I could feel Adrian's chest vibrate with each word. I felt the earth rumble beneath me as Adrian let me go. I opened my eyes again and bolted to Jasper. I was whimpering and a crying mess as he caught me and picked me up, carrying me to the car. Cam got into the driver's seat, Bella in the passenger, as Jasper and I sat in the back seat.

I could tell Cam was having a hard time controlling his anger as Bella looked to be convincing him of something but I wasn't too concerned with it right now as my body continued to shake violently. Jasper held me tightly and kissed my head gently. I felt him growl as he nuzzled his face into the crook of my neck. I leaned into his embrace as he nipped gently at my skin. "Mine." he signed into my hand, I nodded quickly. Bella tapped on my leg as I lifted my head to see we were at the police station, flashing police lights caught my attention as I noticed my parents car, as well as the Chiefs. "Dad's here late. Something must have happened." she signed. Cam nodded, saying something to her. All four of us got out of the car, me still clutching onto Jasper. Carlisle walked out of the station looking grim, "Carlisle. What happened?" Jasper questioned. "Waylon Forge was found in the woods out near his place. I just examined the body." Carlisle signed. My hand covered my mouth, no Waylon. Tears jolted to my eyes for the third time tonight. The four of them looked at me as my eyes reached my parents. I ran to them as I collided into my father's arms who was crying. Waylon was a very close family friend, I used to call him Uncle Way. I felt my father sob into my neck as we held each other, my mother rubbing his back. I had only one thought,¨Who is doing this?¨.
