When It's Too Late

Before anything else, I've been so busy and caught up with work. Its peak day so I am really busy at this point. But here it is, I wrote this chapter with spare time that I have. This may be sabaw so forgive meeeeeee.

Day 28

Alyssa Rae's POV...

I woke up late today, as in late like 2 pm. I hate it because I still feel so tired, I don't want to do anything today, just to lay down and eat but I don't want to cook. I stayed in my bed and scroll in my phone and ordered some foods for breakfast and lunch. Its didn't take so much time to be delivered as well, so I go down to get my food but I saw Russell getting it.

“You woke up late, are you okay?” he ask while walking towards the kitchen
“Yes, I'm just tired. Why are you still here? Don't you have work today?” I asked, sitting down to finally eat.
“No, I woke up late and I don't want to hear my Mom nagging again.” I nodded
“You? This is the first time you woke up late, aren't you going to work?” I mentally rolled my eye
“No, I'm tired. I don't know why but suddenly I feel like I need a month of leave.”
“Maybe you're overworking yourself.”
“Not really, but yeah. Wanna eat?” I asked while munching my food.
“Thanks, I just ate.” He walked past me and opened the fridge.
“Are you the one who buys these groceries?” I nodded not able to answer as my mouth is full
“Next time you're going, tell me, okay?” I nodded again.
“Do you have any plans today?”
“Yes, planned to sleep and eat all day.” I heard a muffled laugh, nag pipigil ba siya tumawa?
“Our parents called me, they said we will have a family dinner tonight.”
“Where?”
“In the Main House, Mom said she misses you.” I nod, I missed Tita too. Mom is always strict with me, masyadong matigas. Siya rin ang nag desisyon na hindi ihihinto ang kasal namin, Tita told me if I cannot bare it anymore just stop.
“You're spacing out.” I didn't even felt that he's already sitting beside me. Patuloy ako sa pagkain while scrolling on my phone, not sure if I'm avoiding having conversations with him or just not in the mood to speak.
My phone rang and its Mom. I walked outside the house and answered it.
“What took you so long to answer the call?” bungad niya sa akin
“I'm eating Mom, why did you call?”
“Is that how you should great your Mother?” I scoffed
“Don't you dare scoff at me young lady! You're going to Russell's Family Dinner, fix yourself. Don't do anything stupid!” With that she hanged up the call. I walk back inside the house, clearly losing my appetite. I look at my food, its almost a half but I don't want to eat it anymore.
“What time are we leaving?” I asked Russell.
“5:30, take your time. Its still 3 pm, we have a lot of time.” I nodded and head back to my room and started cleaning my room. Its now 4:15, so I decided to take a bath and fix myself. I wore a simple red dress with light natural makeup. I'm not a fan of jewelries but I still wore a necklace and bracelet. Also I didn't forget the ring that was given to me by Tita. Its the ring for our engagement but it was sitting on its box ever since. I wear it everytime there's a family events and important business.
“Are you done?” Russell knocked on my door.
“Yes, one moment. I'll be down.” I looked at my phone and its already 5:15.
“Let's go, I'll drive.” I looked at him
“No, I'll bring my car.” He snatched my car key.
“You're not driving. Come on, get inside the car.” I stomped my feet and get inside his car.

Throughout the ride I was not in the mood, while Russell was trying to talk to me I completely ignored his whole being.

“Finally, you guys are here.” Tita said and hugged me.
“Good thing you listened Rae, watch out and behave.” My Mom said and left without even saying hi at me.
“Its fine Alyssa, don't mind your Mom. She's always like that. Come on, lets eat. I cooked your favorite.” I smiled, hope she didn't see its fake.
“My Favorite daughter is finally here!” Tito said (Russell's father) I smiled and hugged him.
