Blake's POV

I walked down the hallway in the direction of the cafeteria
There were only a few students around at this time.
Most people are going to the cafeteria.
I normally eat lunch 20 minutes late and go to the hallway on the north wing.
There would be plenty of stragglers under my fists there.
But I didn't head there this time.
As I walked by, a skinny shrimp passed me as I walked down the hallway.
I wasn't really in the mood to bully the kid.
Zack called me to meet him by the bakery club room.
Specifically the TLE room #2.

As I walked, I reminisced about what happened the other night.
I was a bit upset to find out that Chase befriended my victim.
That sniveling, Alec.
I have been friends with him almost since my diaper days, and he never tried befriending someone like Alec.
He'd always pick off the nerds or weaklings if he weren't studying...
Which was funny since he was practically a nerd himself.
But with Alec... something changed.

And he changed Chase too... not just mentally, but physically... and I think genetically.
On that same night, I took off Alec's hoodie after slamming his head onto the ground.
Which I have no regrets about...
When I did, I just saw a dog.
A white dog.
Alec was built like those furries I see on the internet.
I would not be surprised if the weird kid [Caleb] would be fascinated.
To be honest, that kid [Caleb] is a bit too weird...
And I usually keep my distance away from that shrimp.

I called Alec a freak... which he is...
But then Chase took him away, and Zack gave me a little scolding.
He wasn't happy that I called Alec that.
Typical Zack.
But after that, when I went up...
I wasn't prepared to see a purified Chase.
Chase explained to me what happened.
Apparently... It all happened on the night of that party.
Honestly... I blame Zeno for this.

After that conversation... I was practically silent for the rest of the night.
It was only when Chase, Noah, and Alec went to sleep that Zack requested me to talk.
...
...
...
The memories of that talk lingered back...
Actually... They hit me like a truck.
Zack...
He scolded me again during that talk...
But he also said something else...
Something I feel like he regrets saying and something that shook my entire being.

I still... can't forget what he said...

"Can't you be any nicer to our dorm mate!" Zack yelled, "You know that this is his first month with new people in his entire life."
"I don't know that!" I scoffed.
"Well, now you know... and now we know why," Zack said.
"It isn't my problem." I snarked.
"Argh... You are so frustrating!" Zack grumbled.

I eyerolled.
Zack then punched my shoulder.
"Ouch, hey! I yelled, wincing at the pain of the hard punch.
Zack was as strong as Chase, even though most of the time, Zack was a gentle giant.
Zack rarely punched anyone.
"What was that for!" I said, a bit shocked by the punch.
"Can't you be a bit more considerate!" Zack said.
"You aren't my parent... I can do what I want." I said, standing firmly.

Zack ruffled his hair in frustration.
"This is why nobody likes you!" Zack snarled, "This is why no one ever wants to be with you!".
This comment stung.
It was partially true.
I don't have any other friends than Noah and Chase.
Dominic, Zeno, and the rest were more of acquaintances.
"Shut up..." I said, trying not to show weakness.
"..."
"I'm sorry..." Zack said, looking away.
