Chase's POV:

"BROTHER!", "PLEASE!" Zeno cried stumbling on the pillar.
"Alec!" I called.
He didn't look back.
He just kept on running faster as he cried.
All of us just stood there as he disappeared among the dark streets.
Zeno just slumped down onto the floor.
Caleb then rushed to him followed by Joseph.
"What did you do?" Joseph snapped at the sober Zeno.
"I... I..." Zeno quivered
"I hit him.." He sniffled, "An.. and I... said something... I shouldn't have...".
"What did you say?" Caleb asked worryingly.
"I... can't... tell you.." Zeno said looking away guiltily, "It's.. a family... issue."

"What about Alec?" I said looking around, "Shouldn't we go looking for him?" I asked
Noah looked at me as if I was crazy.
"I think you should." Caleb said trying to help Joseph carry a sobbing Zeno.
"Just me?" I asked
"Other than me, you are his only other friend here." Caleb replied.
Noah open his eyes wide in disbelief.
I never really told him that I befriended Alec, and I don't know if he agreed or not.
But that was not important right now.
"Ok, I'll try?" I said then turning over to Noah, "Noah, can you make a call for Zack, just In case Alec decided to head there."
Noah nodded before everyone retreated back into the house to most likely comfort and scold a sobbing Zeno.

I got of the porch and started walking in the direction Alec had ran.
It was dark, but the lamp posts lit the road up.
Alec could have run back to our dorm as it wasn't that far from here.
But something tells me that he would not got there for just awhile.
Continuing my search, it was getting rather eerie.
A passing car or two would help alleviate that eerie feeling.
On the other hands, the constant choir of night creatures put me on edge.
The constant chirping of the crickets, the lonely hoots of an owl, the silent yet loud breezes of wind.
"Isn't going alone in horror movies a bad idea" I whispered to myself silently
I shuddered at the feeling of something happening to me.

I looked around.
There was still no sign of Alec.
"Alec!" I yelled, "Alec, Where are you!?"
No answer.
I kept on walking.
I was nearing a turn on the road which led to a forest.
I was about to turn, but I then noticed footprints along the dirt.
The looked new.
Maybe Alec headed towards the forest I thought.

Contemplating whether or not this was a good idea, I sighed.
Alec is my friend.
Or atleast a new one.
But... well...
I shook my head.
This was the right thing.
I took a step.
And another.
I picked up the pace until I had a steady rhythm walking along the forest grounds.
I felt like something would happen tonight.

And well...
Something did.
And it would change me forever.

I walked along the woods.
That eerie feeling became much greater within these lonely woods.
It felt as if the forest was alive.
Waiting to gobble me up.
The trees look twisted, the owls were staring, and the choir became louder and ominous.
My only comfort was the shining moon.
Its light paved the way through the darkness, bring in me a sense of bravery.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a very brave person.
But just put yourself in my shoes for a minute.

Anyways....
As I walked, I could hear faint whimpering.
That got my guard up.
I looked around with my fists up.
I then noticed some blood on a hanging branch.
It looked fresh.
That made me quiver.
Could someone gotten hurt?
Were they being Chased?
Hah funny, my name.

The whimpering got louder and sadder.
I looked around again.
It was coming not so far from here.
I was really starting to think this was a bad idea.
But, there might me someone in need of help.
It even could be Alec.
I gritted my teeth.
"I got to go help." I whispered as I finally brought up my confidence.
I walked towards the noises.
It started to fade, becoming even fainter.
