"I'll miss you when you leave," Keilani said with a sigh. The boy chuckled, knowing their bond had grown stronger in just a few days.
"Have you talked to Clay?" Sapnap asked. She nodded with a small smile. "We're all good." She set her cigarette down and glanced at her shoes.
"So.. are you two...?" Sapnap raised an eyebrow, giving her a knowing look. She shot him a sarcastic, disgusted glare in return. "We're friends... for now," Lani replied, her voice steady. But the glimmer in her eyes betrayed her true feelings, she couldn't deny that she liked him back.
Sapnap leaned closer, intrigued. "Come on, you can't just leave it at that. There's something more, isn't there?"
Lani hesitated, biting her lip as she thought about their late-night conversations and flirty jokes. "Maybe," she admitted, a smile creeping onto her face. "But I don't want to rush things. I like where we are."
"Fair enough," Sapnap said, nodding. "Just don't wait too long, you never know what could happen." The latter smiles, she nodded.
"Honestly, if we ever did become something, I'd be more afraid of your guys' fanbase. They're kinda mean," she chuckled sheepishly. Sapnap nodded in agreement.
"They can be a little odd sometimes," he said. "One moment, they're your biggest fans, and the next, they're ready to throw you under the bus."
Lani laughed, but a hint of worry crossed her face. "It's like there's no middle ground. I get that they care, but it can be really overwhelming."
"I agree," Sapnap replied, leaning back. "You just have to remember that not everyone gets to see the real you. Some of them take it way too far."
"Right?" Lani said, her voice growing serious. "I just hope they won't come for me in my sleep for dating their favorite streamer."
"They'll come around," he reassured her with a grin. "As long as you're happy, that's what matters most." Keilani smiled and rested her head on his shoulder. "I'll make sure to tell Clay you're equally as smitten as he is," he smirked.
She laughed, playfully shoving him on the shoulder. "Can you describe him to me? What does he look like?" She turned to look at him, eager for details
"Tall—really tall. He has brown hair, but he's somehow managed to gaslight everyone it's dirty blonde. He's strong, I guess, and really fucking dumb," Sapnap listed, while the girl listened intently.
